Didn't it used to be popcorn, ice cream etc. AND a drink? Am I to understand correctly that now a medium soda, milk etc... IS the snack? You get a porcorn OR a drink not both?

Thank you! I am still trying to decide if we should add the DDP to our package. Even with the 2008 changes (and doing the math) it is still a deal.

The DDP works out well for us too.....

The snack is one single-serving item under $4, unless it's changed again since I've checked.

It's always been that way - even way back in 2005 (the first year the Disney Dining Plan was in existence).

In fact, 'way back in those olden days' :teeth:, the ONLY choices were:
Ice cream novelty (or)
20 ounce bottle of soda (or)
20 ounce bottle of water (or)
Medium* fountain beverage (or)
Single-serve bag of chips (or)
Single piece of fruit (or)
Single-scoop box of popcorn.

There was never an "and" component to the snack. A snack is one item for one person.

Then, during the Food & Wine Festival, some F&W items could be purchased with a snack credit - again, one item per credit, not all items included.

In 2006 and through 2007, the snack definition was expanded to include most snack-type (i.e. not meal items such as pizza slice) under $4.

Now, in 2008, Disney has reduced the definition of snack to a, really, sensible level - individual serving.

*Some locations allowed large fountain drink

The drink was never included as an "AND" on the snack. You could get a drink as a snack but you didn't get a snack and a drink.

I don't know why I thought the DDP snack once included a food item AND a drink. Anyway, I just added the DDP plan to our package. We already had one sit down meal and one counter service meal planned per day and we always need a drink or a pretzel during the day so this will work out for us. Thanks everyone!
