so i realize its a room only discount but when i go to the next page it already has a specific amount of ticket days selected (i changed it to the amount of days i want), and then the next page gives you the opportunity to add the dining plan, flights, ground transportation, and memory maker therefore making it a package which costs $815 and change for hotel and tickets.

yet if i were to just select that i want to book a package it does not give me the late winter room rate so the price is $945 and change.

so obviously i'd want to book it the first way cuz it saves me money BUT what i'm wondering is are there any disadvantages in booking that way?

for example will my tickets be separate and i'd have to link them myself and only be able to get FP+ 30 days out? or would it really all still be a package and i'd get to make my FP+ selections 60 days out?

i guess i just don't understand why when you select that you want a package you can't get the room rate discount yet when you choose the room rate discount as your option it still seems to be a package but just less expensive.

i don't know if i'm even making sense anymore lol.

if you don't understand what i'm saying then could you go to the disney world website and look at it yourself and do it with the late winter discount and then with the package option? (dates:3/23/15-3/27/15, 1 adult, pop century, 3 day base ticket)

Disney runs numerous different offers simultaneously and also has rack room rates. If you book your trip on the Disney World website you will get the same thing, just at different rates. For instance they have the play, stay and dine rates available where you get the room, tickets, and dining plan at a set rate. You can also go in and get the late winter room rate and add the tickets and dining plan and you will get the exact same thing, just at a different rate. Just decide what you want and try the different options of putting your vacation together and choose the one that comes out cheapest. Everything now is attached to your Disney experience account and Magic Band, so you will see no difference in ticket delivery or room.:) It's kind of like going to McDonalds and trying to decide whether to order a combo meal or a sandwich, fries, and drink separately. Either way you get the same thing, but at a different price.

On the website if you select the Package, you are not selecting the "Late Winter Room Offer". You do not have to include any tickets to get the Late Winter Room Offer but the website automatically selects the number of DAYS as its default, if you don't want tickets you select No Tickets.

I think it is just the way they code the website, when you push button A - you get X, when you push button B you get Y. When there is no offer they just remove button B.

i think that i was just over thinking this whole thing.

i was under the impression that if you got a ROOM RATE discount that meant it was ROOM ONLY and then you'd have to purchase tickets separately but it appears that even though its a room rate discount it can still be a package.

i'm just used to getting a PACKAGE discount such as free dining, gift card offers, and add X amount of ticket days to your package and get an extra day for free.....

A room discount can be applied to a room-only reservation.

As an alternative, the discount can be applied to the room portion of a package.

It's the same amount off. But different deposit and cancelation rules apply to the two types of bookings.

Perhaps someone can verify this- if you buy tickets while booking a room, I believe the system assumes you want a package.

Yep, you got it before I posted :)

Also, there is zero impact on FP+. You can book at 60 days no matter how you obtain your tickets, as long as you're staying on-site (including Swan and Dolphin).
