Confused about Professional Internship

My son graduated with a BS in Business Management this past May 2006. He had participated in the WDW College Program in the spring of 2005. He applied in January 2006 for a Professional Internship in Event Planning which was to begin June 2006 but did not get the internship. He instead decided to participate in the Summer Alumni College Program and he is currently working at Disney in the program at this time. He says he is planning to apply for the currently listed Professional Internships that are for January-June 2007.

I am confused. When you look at the FAQ for Professional Internships is states that a college graduate cannot apply. But I have seen/heard of instances where recent college graduates have gotten Professional Internships. Does anyone know the true answer to whether or not a recent college graduate can get a Professional Internship?

If my son cannot apply for a Professional Internship, what are everyone's thoughts of taking a full time hourly position with Disney and trying to get into one of their management trainee programs? Has anyone ever gone that route to work for Disney?

Any info would help.

Thanks

I am currently looking into the professional internships right now and from what I can gather it depends on the internship. A science one, in my case I have to complete within a year of graduation. But there are others that say must be completed within attending college. It should say whether the ones he is looking into has restrictions.

The professional internships really confuse me. I'm trying to apply for the one for PR in Burbank beginning June 2007, and I graduate from university in June 2007 - will I be eligible? It says I will be but I'm not so sure...

Also does anyone have any idea if you can apply from overseas? In their application process I had to put down that I was from Alabama as it wouldn't allow me to apply without choosing a state.

Does anyone know when they begin to respond to their applications?

Cheers,

Jenna (from Stirling, Scotland)
