Confused about pricing a hotel without booking a "package."

Hi! I have a question. I have been to DLP twice before but have not stayed in a Disney hotel. This year my family and I are planning on getting APs, so excited but also confused. When I try to price a hotel stay on the website, it gives me prices for a whole package, incl. park tickets which we won't need since we're getting APs. Is there something I'm missing?:confused3:confused3

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

on the website you can't book anything except a package including park tickets for the duration of your stay, thats the way DLP hotels work.

However, you can get prices for room only by calling DLP and asking them for the AP room rate, for the hotel and dates of your choice. Be sitting down though - rack rate for the onsite hotels is stupidly expensive, and the AP discount won't bring it down to a reasonable amount.

Before you call DLP, check the website for a one-adult (and any free kids) package price. If thats cheaper than the AP room only price you're quoted, consider booking the package then adding the extra guests in your party to the room at check-in. They will have APs for park entry. Here is more information on that option :) -

Thank you very much for the response! I bookmarked the thread you linked to. :)

When you call DLP, are they able to tell you what the rate would be to add the extra adults to the room? We would be staying at Davy Crockett, there are 4 adults and two children. My in-laws wouldn't want the annual pass, one of my daughters is free, so can I ask the French DLP folks how much it would be to add two adults and a child to the room only?

i wouldn't - it tends to confuse the telephone agents at DLP . The Davy Crockett is one of the onsite budget options, so its only going to cost, at most, 5 euros per night total to add your 2 adults and a child. Its very simple to do when you check in, the reception team know the drill :).

what about upgrading a package ticket to an annual pass. Is that an option?

unfortunately not - the park tickets included in a hotel package have no value on their own (they are printed with "nil" or "forfait" on the price part).
