Confused about PASS: Prepaid reloadable card (AE)

Is it okay if I reload before I get the card in the mail? I saw online that my card is ready. Also, for those of you who got the reward, how long did it take to appear online?

This was on the AE Page from the post above, so I'm guessing this won't work if they don't have your name/address on file?

"To receive a $50 bonus on a PASS Card, you must be the named recipient of the PASS mailing. The PASS Card must be purchased using promotion code PASS50. The PASS Card must be reloaded between September 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010 and must be active when the $50 bonus is fulfilled. Please allow 4–6 weeks after qualifying reload for the $50 to be credited. PASS Card terms and conditions apply."

Several people on another thread about the pass card called amex & asked. they were told that as long as you have the code, you get the $50 bonus.
I figure it's not costing me a dime to do this, so even if they screw us & don't give us the $50, I'm not losing anything. I'll just have another card to use up before I cancel it.

I called AE yesterday to check the status of one of my orders and they told me that it is taking a little longer to process them because of the promo code being leaked on the internet. She said that they are checking to verify who qualified for the bonus and who didn't. It didn't sound like they were going to honor the code for those who did not receive it. I'm still hopeful, but guess I'll just have to wait and see.

They actually have the promo listed on the Pass Card page. You don't have to be an Am Ex card holder or have the flier according to what is on their site.

The promo is listed on the link that was sent to certain people. If you go directly to the AE Pass website, it doesn't show anything about the bonus.

Last week it was advertised on the bottom left corner of the main Pass Card page. They have since changed the page.

Called AMEX right before to ask them about honoring the promotion for those who didn't get the mailing and she said what a PP said about how they were verifying applications and canceling orders for those who didn't get the mailing.

I figured I have nothing to lose and plus, I get a cute pink credit card

I didn't receive a mailer and my $ has already been taken out of my account, so mine wasn't cancelled. I have not gotten any verification of them being shipped though. How long does it take between the money being deposited on the card and the card being shipped?

Just call them with your order number and they can tell you where your card(s) are. I called and they told me yesterday that the names had just been embossed and they would be mailed on Monday. They said they were running slightly behind. I also called before I ordered them and asked about the promo and told them I got the "code" off a website and she said as long as I had the promo code in when I ordered, not a problem. When I called yesterday and asked the status of the cards, I asked again about how it would work knowing that I got the code off the internet and I pretty much got the same response, as long as the code was put in when you ordered, you will get the bonus.
Besides, worse case, you have a $25 dollar card that you paid $25 for, no loss.

I believe it said 4-6 weeks from the reload date. Hoping for sooner.

Their website said 4-6 weeks after you make the 2nd deposit on the card. Someone posted that it really only took 10 business days or so the last time AE did this promo.

I never got an email from them that it shipped, the charge hadn't yet shown up on my amex...but I got it yesterday!

The charge showed up on my Amex card 6 days AFTER I actaully got the card!

I was also told this time AMEX is looking into the bonus - They are matching up the mailing to the people who applied for the pass card with the bonus and only those who were on the mailing list would be getting the bonus... I am waiting 4-6 weeks to see if I get the bonus or not.. I already re-loaded

Bumping to see if anyone has gotten the bonus yet? I haven't...but I keep checking now that I'm in the 4-6 week range. Just curious...
