Confused about ME

Hey all,

We are leaving in less than 2 weeks. We are flying from Halifax with a stop in Ottawa then on directly to Orlando. My question is concerning the pickup of luggage. We received both our luggage tags and ME (yellow)tags. So do we have to pick up our own luggage at the airport or will ME pick it up for us? Also will we take it with us to the airport when we leave? If it matters we are flying Canjet. There seems to a lot of confusion on the boards.

is that when you arrive in Orlando you DO NOT have to get your luggage. It will magically arrive at your resort. But it should be documented in the package of the yellow tags that you receive

Where are you clearing customs?
If you go through customs in Orlando you will have to pick up your luggage and take it through. If it's in Canada you can put on the ME luggage tags and ME will pick up your luggage.

In Orlando I would assume. I don't know if it would be done in Ottawa but I don't think it will. Orlando is our first and last stop in the U.S. I am a bit confused as to specifics because this is our first trip to the U.S.

You will clear customs in Ottawa. When we arrived in Orlando they gave us the option to pick up our own luggage or wait three hours to have it brought to us. If you are unsure when you arrive at the Orlando airport there will be CM's to help answer your questions. Just really try not to get stressed out becasue if you miss the first bus there is always another one. There were six of us that just went in June. All of us were first time flyers and it did not take us long to figure out what to do. And again do not be embarrassed to ask questions. Remember to have the piece of paper Disney mailed to you as proof of ME. We took West Jet down and had to go from Moncton to Toronto and found to be much more stressfull than coming back through Ottawa. We found Ottawa to be much more helpful. When we go back in January 06 we are leaving from Halifax and connecting in Ottawa. Hope you have a great trip

Jayrock I can relate.We flew Westjet from Moncton to Toronto /Orlando in Oct and customs in Toronto was awful for our family.I understand the need to be thorough ,but not rude and arrogant.I hope Westjet starts offering flights direct from the Maritimes soon .That would be great!!!
