Confused About Dinning Plan

We will be making our advanced dining reservations soon. I assumed that I could make the reservations and add the dinning plan at a later date. We are planning on going to the Hoop De Do and I realize that they will need a cc to hold that reservation. Will they charge the card immediately or will they wait to put the charge on at the time of the meal? I was hoping to switch over to the dinning plan closer to the date of the trip.

They take your cc in case you don't show for your res. and they will charge some amount on it for missing your re and not cancelling it. I'm not sure the total amount maybe someone else knows. But as for adding the adr now and adding DDP later on you shouldn't have any problems. They don't pre charge for meals if that is what you are worried about.

Thank you.This is what I needed to know as there are 8 of us going in Jan. and I wanted to wait until September or later to add the dinning plan. I am also glad to hear that the cc will not be charged unless I fail to cancel and miss the reservation.

CRT and the 3 dinner shows (Hoop de Doo, Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard BBQ) are pre-paid events though. If you do not have an appropriate dining plan associated with your resort reservation at the time of booking, your CC will be charged in full. If you do have an appropriate dining plan, they are merely holds instead (and full price is charged for no shows).

California Grill and Akershus both require CC holds, whether or not a dining plan is associated. Both of these locations will charge a set fee (smaller than the cost of the meal) for no shows.

Cafeen has given you the correct information. Sorry, but you will be charged the full amount when you book if you don't have a dining plan at that time.

You can choose to use credits at the time of the meal and they will refund your prepaid amount.

Why not just go ahead and add the dining plan now? If you're on a package you won't have to pay until 45 days out anyway.

The are staying in a DVC so it has to be paid in full at the time you add it to your reservation.
