Confused and curious! We will be on our WDW trip this year from Dec. 1 -11th, Dec. 8-11th we will
be on our first Disney Cruise. HOORAY!! (7 nights total at resort, 5 day hoppers)

I am not sure about getting the MYW dining plan added to our package –
I will have 2 connecting rooms with ROOM A with 2 adults (18yr & 20yr old) in one room w/ infant
and ROOM B with 2 adults, an 11 yr old and an 8 yr old in the other room.
I was thinking of just adding the dining plan to ROOM B. That would make it
3 adult meals and 1 child meal per night:

Is this correct: we would get:

21 snack points (that means 3 snacks per day, correct or not?)
21 counter service points (3 counter service per day, correct or not?)
21 sit down points (3 sit down dinner per day, correct or not?)
for adults

and
7 snack points (1 snack per 1 child per day?)
7 counter service points (1counter service per 1child per day)
7 sit down points (1 sit down dinner per 1 child per day)
for child

Am I on the right track?
Do I have to use all snack, counter service + sit down dinner per day – or use them whenever?
In another words can I use 4 sit down dinner points for one day at the same time?

Other question:

If we arrive the first night at around 2:00pm
does that mean we all have a sit down meal, a counter service meal and a snack to use
up that day – or can we use it up another day?

What I was thinking that with the other two adults in ROOM A – we can share plates (they say
they give you huge portions) or use the sit down meal points at a counter service? Is that possible?
Do I have this all correct if not please help me out? I would hate to order the dining plans for both
Room A and B – the adults in room A are my kids so we don’t mind splitting meals.

Let me see how much of your question I can answer:

If you have the MYW dining plan for 2 adults, 1 child 9 and older and 1 child between 3 and 9, you would have the following to use during your 7 night stay:

28 counter service meals (CS)
28 table service meals (TS)
28 snacks

You do not have to use them on a day by day basis. If you decide to do a character meal and another sit down meal in the same day, you would use 2 TS credits per person for that day, and your total number would be decreased.

You cannot use a TS credit for a CS meal. They are not interchangable that way.

Please note that when you are at a TS meal, your child (3-9) would have to order off the kids menu, if there is one. Your older child (over 9) would order off the adult menu. Each TS meal includes an appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic beverage. So in your room, you would have 3 appies, 3 entrees and 3 desserts. Most of the meals are very generous in size and you could probably split several of them. The question becomes whether your older children in the other room would be happy eating shared meals or will they want more food. Only you would know that.

As for your arrival day, you can do whatever you want on that day. Your meal plan starts when you check in and your KTTW card is activated. So if you decide that it's a bit late for lunch but you'd love a TS dinner, then you would use those credits that day, saving the CS and snack credit for that day for another time. Since you're going on the cruise at the end of your land stay, you'll probably be heading out to the ship before lunch. Therefore, you probably wouldn't use the CS on that day, so you could use it another day, perhaps, to get breakfast.

Only you can decide if you want your older children to be on the meal plan. But if your room reservations are linked you might have to buy the meal plan for everyone in your party, along with park tickets. If you have them as 2 separate ressies, you can choose how each room will be done.

Hope that this helps a bit.

The only thing I would add to what the PP said is this: Once you check in, there is no differentiation between adult credits and child credits. They are all pooled for you to use at your discretion. They expire at midnight the day you check out.
I second the comment about checking to see if your room ressies are linked. You may be forced to buy the dining plan for everyone in your party. It really seems to be a great deal if you plan to eat on-site the whole time anyway. Check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com and plan what you might order. If it's more than $35/day for the large folks and $10/day for the small, there's really no reason not to add the plan. Keep in mind that tax and gratuities are already included, so you should add them on to whatever you choose while doing your comparison.

Good luck and have a great trip!
