Confused about DDP..Help!

We just decided to go to WDW next month. We have ressies at Coranado Springs. We have 5 days left on a 10 day hopper pass that we bought on our last trip to WDE (2006). Is it true that we can not buy the dining plan because we don't have to buy tickets?

Also, we may change our ressies to stay at Saratoga Springs (we are DVC members). Can we then buy the dining plan?

If you stay on DVC points, there is no ticket purchase requirement, but you must add DDP to your reservation at least two days before you check in.

If you book a package at a regular resort, unless you have an annual pass and can book the AP room/dining package, then you must purchase some sort of park ticket in order to add DDP to your reservation. You can purchase as little as a one-day base ticket for everyone on your reservation - but you would have to buy tickets.

If you get the dining plan, I'd suggest that you start trying to make ADRS ASAP. Most of the popular and theme park places are probably fully booked.

Spin-off...there was a question the other day on the board about a DVC member who was staying at a DVC resort, but it was a cash reservation. Could they add the DDP in the way you stated above, or is that ONLY when you stay on points?

Cash reservations, no matter what type of resort it is, must be packages for the dining plan to be added. DVC members are eligible for the non-package DDP booking only when staying on points.
