Forgive this lame question, but I am a little confused having never seen Happily Ever After but are the castle projections part of the fireworks or a show by itself?

Happily Ever After is a combination of castle projections and fireworks.

Both actually. There is a castle proction show called Once Upon a Time and then the fire works Happily Ever After uses projection and fireworks.

Happily ever after is what replaced Wishes. It's a projection and firework show that is amazing. The projections do coincide with the fireworks

Once upon a time is what replaced celebrate the magic. This show is either done 30-45min before or after happily ever after. Once upon a time is a projection show

Thanks. I see that Once Upon a Time is at 9:45 pm after Happily Ever After on the night we are going to MK. I remember Celebrate the Magic was before Wishes the last time we went.

Sometimes Once Upon a Time is before Happily Ever After.

And don't feel bad, and it's not a lame question at all. Lots of folks are confused about the new shows. Between HEA having projections and then their moving Once Upon a Time to different times both before and after HEA it confuses lots of folks. Very often folks think the projections that are in HEA are the new projection show.
