confused about cancelation email

we had to cancel our dec. trip when I got an email from reservations last night, it didn't state that we had canceld it said "thank you for making a reservation" but next to the names it had double ** at the bottom of the email it stated that these names had been canceled from the trip, but still gave the total amount due for the package and the day that it was due?? It is a little confusing to look at.
