Hi. I've been searching threads about the coco loco beach break and i'm confused. Is this excursion at a hotel where a beach and a pool is available (and if so, what hotel?) or is it somehow just a private beach? I would like to have a pool available for my son, and i'm debating doing an excusion on my own. Thanks for any information you might be able to provide.

We are doing the Coco Loco beach break in Acapulco. I have searched for information also and what I have learned is that it is at a hotel, but the pool will not be available to us. I "talked" with a May Repo cruiser who had a great time on the excursion. She said the food and service was wonderful. I also debated about doing something on my own, but I heard some not so great things about Acapulco and decided it was best for me to stick with a planned excursion.

Hope this helps. If you decide to go, I hope to see you.

I, like Miclen, did A LOT of research because I was confused just as you are. You are correct that we don't have access to the pool. After hearing what other people have said, we thought the excursion would be OK, but, have opted to go to the Fairmont Princess hotel instead. We have corresponded with them by e-mail, and got their daily rate. It is about 1/2 hour cab ride from the port, but, I hear it is beautiful. If you have questions, Roberto from the port authority is a great resource. He answered all of our questions. It is going to end up being a bit cheaper for us, except that now we will need to pay for food. It will end up being a wash. I'm sure no matter what you decide, you will have a good time. Do be cautioned that I hear the water is rough at the beach. If you have a small one that will be happy in the sand, you should be fine. If you are looking for a pool, the Fairmont has 5. A few people were also going to another hotel, can't remember the name, that will let you use the pool if you buy food/drinks.

I hadn't heard from anyone who actually went on this excursion, so I'm glad to read that it was fun. I will make a decision in the next few days, so if anyone else out there has any more info, please let me know.

thanks again. Kerri

We took the Coco Loco Family Beach Break excursion on the May repo cruise(me, DH, DS-5, DD-2). Here is a link to some pictures:

We had a really fun time. The people at the resort made sure we always had a free drink(they would ask if we needed another one even before we were finished!). The buffet lunch was also very good. The property was roped off to ward off the people trying to sell us stuff. My husband rented a jetski right next to the beachclub for about $30 1/2 hour. There was lots of shade, tables, chairs, ect. Overall a great family place to spend time. This was our 3rd Disney Cruise and our 1st official Disney excursion. We normally try to save money and do everything on our own however we were very happy that we signed up for this excursion. The large AC buses were very comfortable and felt safe and the two guides on board were very informative and funny. If we had done this excursion on our own we may have had to take a small VW taxi thay may or may not have been AC'd.

However, if you are looking for a 5 star type resort, this is not the place for you. It is small older hotel with plastic chairs tables ect. We did not have a problem w/ it but if you are expecting luxury type accomodations you may be disappointed. There wasn't a pool that I could see. I hope this helps.....feel free to ask me anymore questions. :)

Hey Kerri,

We are undecided on where to go also. I was thinking Fairmont or Hyatt. I'm not sure if you can do Coco Loco by yourself. What do you think about us two families (or others who would like to join) try to go together? I'm just thinking security in numbers. If you don't, do not worry..I won't be offended at all :flower:

I have kids that are 11 and 13. We don't have to hang out together, but could ride to the same destination.

What do you think?

There are a few of us heading to the Hyatt. They let us use their pool for drinks. Supposedly it is about a 15-20 minute drive from the port. Al are welcome to join us. I have also heard good things about the Princess.

Oh, okay. If you don't mind, we'll tag along. Is there some where specific you'll meet at?

We're both going to the 11 night! Very cool!

The pictures were great - thanks a lot. I feel much better about this excursion. My husband will be excited about the jetski. It looks like a beautiful beach. I was just a little nervous about it, but now I am leaning towards doing this excursion.

Deb,
I'll talk to my better half tonight, he's traveling today, and see what he thinks. Talk to you soon.
