Conflicting crowd calendars, which is right? Universal in April

I am new to anything Universal. We are thinking of going in the next year. I was looking at April 8-15th because my kids are out of school. I do realize kids get out for spring break, but thought the weeks were different for a lot of people so it might not be terrible. What experience do you have for April? The Undercover Tourist says 8/10 every day but the orlando informer says moderate, which doesn't look bad at all. Which is right? Our other options are Nov 5-12 this year (kids miss 3 days of school), and 3rd week of August (too hot maybe). Any advice? Thanks! :)

If you are considering Nov dates check out the availability now. I know someone going the 6th-12th and she said as of yesterday the onsite hotels didn't have any rooms available. I didn't look, just going by what someone else told me

We just went this past August during the third week. Yes it was hot, but not miserable. We did go back to hotel for mid day breaks and went to the pool.

We were there mid Aug too. Hot but not nearly unbearable. There are plenty of water rides to cool you off and you're only a hop, skip and a jump away from the onsite hotel pools (if you are staying onsite)

April can easily depend on when Easter is. I didn't look it up for you but if Easter is near your trip, then expect crowds. I went this past year in April - the third week - and crowds were moderate and quite manageable BUT Easter was long over by then.

I just looked it up and Easter is April 16th! So I bet it will be crowded! I'll take a look at August then, thanks!

I used to rely on the idea that the week before and after Easter would be the worst for the Orlando parks, so we went to Disney the first week of April this year with predicted moderate crowds (not an Easter week). Crowds were insane. After-the-fact judgments of crowds at a 10+ and worse than Easter.

March and April crowds are hard to predict. I think they depend at least as much on how many have school breaks that week as they do on when Easter is (and it is nearly impossible to determine this- someone on these boards has tried).

As crowded as it was in April, I would still go back during that time frame because of the amazing weather. It was absolutely gorgeous. 80 degrees and practically no rain all week. Great for water rides and swimming, but not too hot to enjoy walking around in the parks.

If I had a Universal Express pass (staying onsite), I would still probably go in April over August or November (especially if one of them I had to pull my kids out of school). I would stay longer, enjoy the resorts, and use early entry and express pass wisely.

I do love the Universal Express. When using the UE, you can actually enjoy more of your vacation. I would go with November vs April. For weather, it is perfect!
