After reading so many horror stories of botched reservations, can a person call at confirm all of their reservations over the phone prior to the trip? Has anyone done that before? Just a thought.

I am pretty sure you can. I am going to because of all the stories I have heard lately!!

Yes, I have done this last year for the coral reef since we had a special diver message. All you need is your name, and reservation confirmation number.

I've already called twice this year to double check mine. I'll probably do it again before we leave in a couple of weeks.

Yes, I always do this because one time I had a mix up with a reservation. If you are staying on-site you can get the front desk to print out all your reservations any time.

If they do not have your reservation on record and cannot get you one then you are out of luck??? If you show up and they have no record of you are they more likely to try to fit you in...providing you at the very least have your reservation # with you??? I am a planner, but think I may just take my chances. i ahve had to call about a few ADRs and they were there so I will have faith that they are all there.

Honestly it depends on the restaurant and availability. If you have any that are difficult to get like CRT and Le Cellier I would confirm those to have piece of mind.

I have called a couple of times to confirm my ADR's for my upcoming trip and knowing anal me, I will probably call one more time right before we leave! I will also take a printed copy of my trip itinerary with all my confirmation numbers.

I usually confirm once. If you give them your phone number, they can read you ALL your adr's at once as opposed to giving each confirmation number. Then if you have a problem (one seems to be missing, etc.) you can provide your confirmation# and look into it further. The confirmation #'s will be what you need if there is a problem at restaurant check in. Otherwise only your last name.
Keep in mind the more the cm's pull up your adr's, the more chance they have of getting screwed up! I wouldn't confirm too many times!
Cheers!

I don't. I figure if I show up with my confirmation # then the restaurant needs to get me in. I worry having my itinerary opened up too many times for people to mess with could cause the problem I'm trying to prevent.

This is how we did it the last 4 trips we were on the DDP, never called to confirm but always took the res. #s with us in case. We never had to use the # we were always in the computer, just gave our name.
