I'm thinking DDP is going to be best for us but would like a 2nd opinion.

DH - Big eater
Me - Average
DD16, Depends on the day to how much she eats, though most of these are her choices. 7 nights on the plan (we leave late Monday evening for an international flight, hence an extra day booked as normal late checkout won't be enough!)

Side note: We'll be at the parks for 2 - 3 days the prior week, staying off-site, and we don't have any plans other than Rainforest Cafe for one of those nights

Both DH and I will sometimes have a glass of wine, depends on how we feel etc.

Tuesday - HS 50s Prime Time Dinner
Wed - Ep, Rose & Crown Lunch
Thurs - MK BOG Breakfast, QS
Fri - AK - Yak & Yeti Lunch
Sat - Ep, Le Cellier Lunch
Sun - Raglan Road Dinner
Mon - MK Crystal Palace Breakfast,

The remaining will be QS and Snacks.

The only way you're going to know for sure is to do the math. You need to go to the menus of the restaurants you've selected and choose what you might want to eat on any given day. Try to be honest about what you really want and not what you would order if paying either way. Your only fixed price meal is Crystal Palace which would be around $40. Remember all three of you also get your own dessert on the plan and do you want that.

The allowed alcohol has definitely tipped the dining plans back into the "good option" category for those who drink it, so that could be in your favor as well.

For reference, a TS credit is roughly worth $41 so the three of you need to "spend" about $125 at EVERY meal to break even. It's not hard to do that, but it's also very easy to spend less if you don't WANT all the food and drink that comes with the DDP.

Why with the 16 year old it depends on the day. Does she only eat every other day? I have a brother that skips lunch most days but packs protein bar.

Just curious.

Depends on how much she feels like eating. Somedays she eats like a sparrow, the next like a stereotypical growing teenage boy! It depends on how she's feeling, we don't push it with her, she's a healthy weight etc.

With the exception of Crystal Palace and Le Cellier, your chosen meals are nto the overly expensive ones often found on Disney property, so offering advice on the DDP is not a no brainer for us. When you add your daughter's eating habit into the mix, and the fact you do not always include an alcoholic beverage, it gets even more difficult. The meal prices have increased, and the plans include an alcoholic beverage, making the plans a better valus for most, however you will need to look at menus and do some basic math, using your own knowledge of your family's dining habits while on vacation.

I know what my family will normally choose at any given restaurant, and I know they like desserts, and most will order wine with dinner, so my calculations are generally true.

Thanks everyone. It's borderline, best case scenario we'll save about $50, and thats with both of us having a drink each night. I think at this point I'll probably skip it, but if our dining plans change then I'll revisit.

For my Family -

Tuesday - HS 50s Prime Time Dinner - we would skip this, it just doesn't suit our family... and the food at best was mediocre. there are much better options out there.

Wed - Ep, Rose & Crown Lunch - this is a nice spot for lunch.. if you are going to order the fish and chips, you can get the same ones served at Rose and Crown at the quick serve right next to it, then this would free up another option for you... Lunch or Dinner at Chef De France or dinner in Japan, both restaurants are very good,

Thurs - MK BOG Breakfast, QS - We have only done dinner here, which was really good, and we got to see the Beast.

Fri - AK - Yak & Yeti Lunch - Good Choice for lunch

Sat - Ep, Le Cellier Lunch - We have always had good meals here at dinner time. I will say they are quite hearty and heavy.

Sun - Raglan Road Dinner - Music and fun... the food for us has been consistent as well as service... all Good on both.

Mon - MK Crystal Palace Breakfast, - This is one of our favorite character breakfast...

There are so many new places, I would take a look at the menu's here or over at allears.net to see whats new...
