First of all, I apologize if this question has already been discussed. I searched for the topic, but didn't see anything.
To begin a long story, when I booked my trip yesterday, the CM transferred me to dining to make my ADRs. I was surprised at how smoothly everything went, but I think I cursed myself a little by that thought.
When I read the email showing my reservation, I realized my last name had been misspelled (I have a last name like Reed that can be spelled in multiple ways). My family and I actually laughed about it because I spelled it to her several times to make sure it was correct, but only in correcting it did the nightmare begin.
Because I have free dining and have never done it before, I wasn't sure if there would be a problem along the road on my trip because the name on the reservation doesn't match to any ID I may need (if I do) to present at check-in. So, the CM at the resort changed it for me, but told me I had to call dining to do that. When I finally got through to them, the CM told me he could not change the name because of the new system but the only thing he could do would be to cancel my ADRS and try to find me something else under my corrected name. I certainly didn't want to risk that, but then he began to raise his voice at me and told me it was no big deal. I asked if there would be a problem anywhere (just to cover my bases) with the reservations being under two different names: the correct and incorrect spelling. When he told me no, that was fine by me.
However, another person in my party called the resort back to upgrade something and mentioned the issue. She said she would change the name, but now I'm worried in doing so my ADRs have been canceled. SO, to put my mind at ease, I was wondering if there was a way to check confirmation numbers online for dining reservations. I don't want to call back and take up someone else's time for a small name issue, but I'm afraid when I do re-confirm my ADRs will be gone and by then it will be too late.
Sorry about the long post and the vent. It's honestly not a big deal to me to have the dining reservation under a misspelled name and I completely understand it was out of the dining CM's control, I'm just worried about an accidental cancellation. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you so much in advance.
