I just got an email from Debbi Sacleux, the manager of CR....she has confirmed that there are no longer any crab legs on the menu. She stated that the quality of the product was no longer up to Disney standards so they pulled the item from the menu until a better more consistent product is available.

I am disappointed, but i understand!

Oh NO!!!!! That's the whole reason I booked the ADR at CR!!!!

I really think that another factor is cost, Crab Legs are very expensive, and due to the Dinning Plan and Free Dining it may have been a lost, That is my opinion!;)

I think so too! That's why Fulton's isnt on the dining plan!!!

But with Free Dining DH would have a fit if we dropped $150 on crab when all our meals are free!

We are going to Fulton's for the crab legs, etc., for our special 25th anniversary dinner. Love Fulton's...and can't wait to be there. You are right though--very expensive...and there will be four of us and we are footing the bill!

OH MY!:scared1: did you take out a small loan? lol

No, but I thought of it. :rotfl2: My darling DH is an umpire for youth/high school baseball and he has logged in over 75 games this year to pay for our trip. I have barely seen him the last month except to say good morning and good night as he has been at games and I've been at the hospital with my dad every day. By the time DH is done doing games prior to our trip, he will have made the money to pay for the Disney portion of our trip, tips on the dining plan, Fulton's, four nights in Daytona, plus meals and our car rental at Orlando Airport for 13 days. He is my sweetie! :lovestruc

Point taken Fulton and the Crab Legs Are Not On The Dinning Plan and next the Place with the Lobster Tails, They are going to swim off that Menu:rotfl2:

Oh my, how sad! Dh got them during our trip in May and loved them. That was his reason for our ADRs there.

AWWW! Yea i am suppose to be picking up shifts tohelp...but i am being VERY lazy latley. I better get on the ball!

PrincessKellen74-- Fultons used to be on the dining plan up until a couple of years ago. I wished they would put it back on! We ate there the last year it was on the plan and it was awesome. However like all the others we won't eat there until they do put it back on the plan:(.

Honestly, I think with the popularity of the DDP, it will never happen. Fulton's isn't a Disney-owned restaurant; I don't see any reason why they would want to participate.

I'll continue to just suck it up and pay OOP.

Hurry - someone run over to Epcot this weekend and tell Sig and Edgar Hansen that WDW stopped serving crab legs!:lmao:

pretty sad when seafood is removed from a seafood restaurant menu....

(i know - there are other things than seafood on the CR menu - but really, did the crablegs have to go??!!)

The crablegs hadn't been on the menu very long. Obviously it was a test and it didn't cut it. I had them and there's no great loss here. They were tasteless and rubbery. They were too much work for this nice restraurant and not enough there to even take care of your hunger.

Fultons on DDP!! :worship: I petition to bring it back :lmao:

1) Just won't happen.
2) Most non-park non-Disney-owned eateries are not on the DDP.
3) The DDP just does not provide enough reimbursement
4) I would not like eateries to alter their menu just to fit DDP
5) It is already a major problem with DDP restaurants
. . . uniqueness of menu items is disappearing
. . . food items are becoming standardized
. . . tables are getting pushed closer to squeeze in more seats

NOTE: To most people, this is not a problem. The American dining public wants to pig-out and most do not care about quality or uniqueness. I would dare say that most would not know the difference. If this were not true, there would be an uproar at the way WDW eateries have changed menu items since the introduction of DDP.

I agree that this is happening and is partially due to the dining plan but also due to the recent business model of the Walt Disney World Company and its current interest in catering almost exclusively to its majority demographic (typical families with young children who stay at least a week, don't leave property, and are willing to splurge on souvenirs, food and events - even more so if they think they are being offered savings or extra convenience). The dining plan is part of that business model.

I for one am glad that there are some restaurants on property that don't take the dining plan...they seem to be invariably better in quality than those who do (at least the ones that take one credit). Of course, I am not in the favored demographic.
