Confessions of an obsessive planner... Let the countdown begin!!

WOOT! You are going to be on The Movie Ride by yourself while everyone else runs to TSM! I think your plan looks great and I think even with all the shows you will see a lot and get a lot done. I don't think you'll need GAD for Muppets? Do they even take FPs???? Never had to wait for it, doubt there is a need for FP at all in September!

For some reason I thought Muppets was on the GAD list but its in a book I have- the same book that shows Indy as a FP attraction even though nothing else does (including the map my mom's bank customer gave her from WDW). My book is old though (2006) so they may have changed it or its just a mistake. :confused3 Anyway, good to know we won't need it since I was wrong!! :thumbsup2

I spent so much time fretting over this and making it perfect and now I've decided that instead of sleeping in on our WS day (it's our FIRST day, are we really going to be able to sleep in?!?) we should do a couple of things on our DHS list before heading over to Epcot. (I wonder what TGMike says about this day at DHS? I don't think it will matter much with the two things I want to accomplish but just curious.) It means giving up Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast BUT if we get a few things out of the way the day before then we will be finished earlier on the actual DHS day which means we would have time to rest and still make it to MK early enough that night to do a few fun things before Spectro. :goodvibes Did you follow that, I'll explain...

I'm thinking that I'll borrow from my original plan and on our WS day we'll get to DHS a few minutes after rope drop, grab breakfast at Starring Rolls then head over to get in line for Jedi Training. We should finish just in time to take a few pictures and catch the 10:30 HSM show. Then we can hop on the boat and head over to WS. (It will probably be closer to 11:15 than 11 when we get there but that's okay- we'll still have plenty of time!)

So then, the next day at DHS all of our stuff I had planned after lunch (TSM, VotLM, MoDA, etc.) can be done earlier and we should be finished at DHS by about 12:30- which will give us lots of time to relax and swim and still head back over to MK in plenty of time to do a couple of rides/attractions and get something to eat before we have to get our spots for Spectro! :woohoo: Our MK day will be a lot less jam packed with this plan as well.

I just decided to do this so I don't have all my times figured out but I'm off to do that now! It takes very little to make me happy when it comes to planning my (ummm, OUR) Disney trip.

That's a great idea! I would worry about your WS day and being too tired after doing some stuff at DHS, but to be honest, you can catch more World Showcase on the 2nd Epcot day in the afternoon after we do Kim Possible stuff! :thumbsup2

Yep, Kya and I will push through being tired so everyone else can go rest while we are doing KP with you guys and then come back to meet us if they want. We're also doing F&W Friday evening so that's another WS opportunity. :thumbsup2

I'm FINALLY uploading my pics to photobucket so I can post about our Finding Nemo day yesterday! Last night and this morning photobucket kept trying to download spyware onto my computer- thankfully I didn't click on the warning (FYI- a red screen and a warning message that APPEARS to be from Microsoft but isn't). I finally googled the text of the message and found that I needed to reboot my computer to stop the warning from popping up. So, one reboot and a whole lot of frustration later my pics are finally ready! :goodvibes

We had originally planned to do Mickey and Minnie's Sweetheart Stories in honor of Valentine's Day but Savannah wasn't too enthusiastic about it so we decided to change it. No time to get a different movie from Netflix so we had to choose from what we had on hand or that was available on instant watch and decided on Finding Nemo.

Karen and I were both worried that the weather was going to put a stop to our plans. :sad2:I was NOT happy about the possibility of cancellation. I do okay in winter as long as I can get out of the house but when I'm stuck at home I get cabin fever to the 1000th degree. Plus, since we hadn't been able to walk Thursday I really wanted to get to the rec center where I could walk inside!

Thankfully the snow didn't come until today so we were able to get together! :cheer2: (Well, we had SOME snow yesterday but the roads were still good, unlike today- I'm looking at a near blizzard right now, but I digress.)

As usual we met first to walk. This is always great because as we walk we get to talk about Disney!. :goodvibes Karen helped me think some things through on the changes I wanted to make to my park plans- I'll post about that later. :thumbsup2

After the walk we headed back to Karen's house for some Disney movie magic. :wizard:

I brought turtles in honor of Crush and Karen made mac-n-cheese that we added fish crackers to so it would resemble Nemo and Marlin in the anemone. Karen also had some fun character cut outs to make it more festive. :lovestruc I also brought a sheet with characters to cut out for the craft we'd do next (more on that later!) and Karen made some fun activity packs for the girls to work on (Jace opted out again  ) and they grabbed them before I was able to start snapping pictures.

After they worked on their activity packs and had some mac-n-cheese and turtles they were ready to make their aquariums. While they'd been busy with their fun and food I shaved a blue and green crayon so there was plenty for both of them. We then laid out a sheet of wax paper and the girls placed their character cut outs on it and sprinkled some crayon shavings around. We topped that with another piece of wax paper.

_MG_9438.jpg

I then used an iron to melt the wax in the paper and the crayon shavings, this gave a green and blue marbled effect to the aquariums and also sealed the two pieces of wax paper together. The girls then cut frames from contruction paper to glue onto the wax paper and trimmed around the edges. Voila- the aquarium from the dentist's office.

While they were waiting for the glue to dry on the frames so they could trim the edges they made a cute little bag that was in their activity packs. They also each picked out two of the characters that had been in the mac-n-cheese anemone so they had lots of goodies! :goodvibes

After that they watched the movie- and decided that those cute little bags made great snack holders! You can't see it but their eating Whales! Do any of you speak whale?

Karen and I didn't make it through the whole movie- The movies are cute but if its one we've already seen we'd both just rather talk about trip planning. :lmao:

Kya really wants to do Enchanted next week but I haven't checked with Karen yet so we'll see!

I love reading about your movie nights! Such awesome ideas. I'm going to take note of some of this stuff so I can do it with my daughter and her friends when she gets older!

Hi, I'm Hope and I'm obsessed with Disney planning. (I do want to point out that Karen is my enabler- w/o her input and suggestions I'm SURE I'd have quit by now!) :hyper2:

I changed my plans- again. :rolleyes1 I just know that if I keep tweaking over the next 7 months that eventually the clouds will part and the light will shine down while the angel choir sings about my PERFECT schedule. pixiedust:

So, I told you that I wanted to go to DHS and do a couple of things on our World Showcase morning. Originally I'd planned to sleep in and not head out until it was time for WS to open and then we'd stay all day, right through Illuminations. Well, the problem I was having was that I knew we'd be too tired to stay at WS without taking a break mid afternoon. HOWEVER I also know that we're going to be up and ready to go since its our first day so we might as well be at DHS having some Disney fun! Also, I wasn't really sure that everyone wouldn't want a break at some point even if we did start late. I really want to see all (or at least most) of the countries though so I couldn't decide what to do. :confused3

WELL... since we'll be finished at DHS so early this means we'll be able to go to MK that evening even earlier. We were just going to go for dinner and Spectro/Wishes but now we'll be able to knock out the stuff we wanted to do at Frontierland and Liberty Square before the parade. :woohoo: Now, this means that we'll be finished earlier than I thought on our MK day. So, instead of just hanging out at the resort we can head back over to Epcot that evening to tour some countries we might miss on our first day. :thumbsup2 We'll have a couple of other opportunites to see a country or two as well. We'll have time after our KP Mission with Karen and we're going to F&W Friday evening. I LOVE my new plan- I thought I'd already created the perfect plan but every time I think that I come up with some way to make it even better.

I also decided that I really wanted the Tusker House breakfast instead of Crystal Palace. The ONLY thing that was drawing me to CP was the opportunity to take pics on Main Street before the park opens. Tusker House on the other hand has (IMHO) better characters and better theming. Not to mention that I KNOW we'll make rope drop at MK but I wasn't so sure at AK. Making this decision was easier when I realized (thanks to Karen) that my MK day is more free now so I'll be able take some pics when we arrive and just wait in line at Dumbo instead of doing the dumbodash.

Since I didn't want my TS dinner and my TS breakfast back to back I moved our Park Fare dinner to Wednesday. One more crazily obsessive thing I did this morning was to make a table of how we will do meals if Disney offers the DDP instead of QS to the values. I LOVE my new plan so I wanted to be sure that I'd get to keep it if our dining plans change. :rolleyes1

I love reading about your movie nights! Such awesome ideas. I'm going to take note of some of this stuff so I can do it with my daughter and her friends when she gets older!

Thanks! We have lots of fun! :lovestruc I get lots of the ideas from the Disney theme night thread and then just add to them or tweak a little bit to suit us.

How old is your little girl? You might just do some family fun nights if she isn't big enough to invite friends over. :thumbsup2

:rotfl:

You are cracking me up! I can't even keep up with your plans, each time I think I know where you will be, you change it! ;)

Looks good to me! I'm gonna laugh when the hours come out and we have to change everything again!

It's this d@mn snow- It's no fun to be finished with plans!!!

My little girl is just about 15 months old. She doesn't have the attention span to watch quite a full movie yet. lol If we do plan to watch a movie or something sometimes I'll print out a coloring page that relates to it and she has a blast with that. Thank you for the link to the Disney theme night thread. I might have to do some of the meal ideas for my husband and I, and tweak it for the little one. :)

OMG- I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! You knew that one would be too hard to resist and then I wouldn't get the lens MH, lol. ;)

Wooooot!!! I got our taxes done today and it will more than cover the cost of our trip!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have been VERY worried about where this money is going to come from because my husband's paychecks have been a bit sporadic lately. He works construction and we've been okay but haven't been able to make saving for WDW a priority. No more worries now- thank GOODNESS! :woohoo:
