Well I am officailly a WW dropout. I give up..it hasn't been working because I haven't been able to stick to, I QUIT!!!

Never fear though I have begun a different plan. I am trying th eglycemic index diet and keeping track of calories and saturated fat and reallly concentrating on BALANCED meals. So today is day 2!!!

Good job on identifiying that it wasn't working and being willing to try something different. What works for one person, won't work for others.

Eating a well balanced diet is the key. Good luck! I hope this one is it!!

Congratulations for making a change since WW wasn't working for you. I hope your new plan will be just right for you and that you will be successful with it. Not all programs are cut out for all lifestyles, so maybe this change will be just what you need.

I've had to do that myself, a time or two.

I think I can imagine what a glycemic index is (low-carb has taught me LOTS of stuff I never thought I would know), but would you care to share?? You said you keep everything balanced, watch out for sat. fats, and calories. Do you count fat grams or just calories? What are the differences between this and WW?

:sunny:

Congratulations for 1) realizing that a plan wasn't working for you and 2) the courage to come here and tell us about it. I'm sure it wasn't easy.

I'm also a WW drop out. I tried it off and on for 3 years and always lost the same 5 lbs and then stalled. I finally realized that this plan wasn't good for me. I was following it to the letter and couldn't get past 155 lbs ever.

Basically it sounds like is very similar to what they are telling diabetics to do now. It is very scientific and hard to explain without having looked at a book. The book has lists of Foods and there glycemic indexes as well as glycemic loads. It seems like the more whole grains there are in something and the less prcessed it is the better it is for you!! Imagine that. DH found a program on the internet for $40 that has lots of foods in it but you can add your own off the nutrition label and it figures out calories, saturated fat etc. It also follows the food pyramid. You eat 3 balanced meals and 3 snacks. It is 4:20 Pm on day 2 no cheating so far. probably a record for me. It is kind of time consuming figuring it all out but once we get more things in the program and more days under my belt then it will be easier. DH says the program makes a ton of differnece. It makes it so much easier!!!

Well I am on day 3 and doing good so far!!!!

Great job !!! I think it's so important to be able to realize when a plan is not working for you ... and an inspiration to see someone have the courage and determination to try something new. Congrats !
