Share something that not many of your friends/peers today know about you.

In 1986-88 era I was "in love" with Ricki Rockett, the drummer for Poison  :teeth: I was set on moving to California and playing drums in a hard rock band. :rockband:

Why this sudden trip down memory lane? Well last night I was flipping through the channels and saw Poison - 20 Years of Rock and started watching it.......(though I don't even listen to that kind of music any more) and oh my gosh........they all looked so old and fat...... You know, you just never expect your heart throb to turn out that way, you can tell they have LIVED HARD.

So what's your secret? :listen:

:confused3 What????? No one else has silly little secrets like this? I thought this would be a fun thread, oh well.

Other crushes have been:
Bo Duke
Ponch from Chips
John Stamos (from whatever roll he was playing)
But Ricki Rockett, he was the ultimate!

Now I look back and think, huh, why did I like them.

BTW VH1 is have Metal Month this month and last night there was a special on about Motley Crue, now I used to be a big time Crue fan as well......boy do they ever look rough!!!!!

So who was your crush way back when????

I liked Rex Smith, does anyone remember him? I'd forgotten about him until my DS brought a bunch of old albums out of the attic and we were looking through them.

I have a drumstick from a 1989 Poison concert. Wanna touch it?

Not very exciting, but I was in love with John Wayne when I was younger.

I had posters and everything.

:rotfl2: Hey, I have a guitar pick from a Warrant concert, it even says Warrant on it, wanna trade? :lmao:

I have a great set of Pearl double bass export series in my basement, bet that drumstick would make them sound so much sweeter.

:wave2: I remember John Wayne, mostly from all the westerns and war movies my dad watched.

True Grit was my favorite movie as a child.

And I owned horses, so I was all into the western thing.

Sorry, I can't let it go - oh the memories.

DH and I met in 8th grade, and I moved away after 9th. We tried to stay in touch, but ended up seeing other people. I went back to where he lived for a visit after graduation and we started keeping in touch again. He came to visit during Spring Break my freshman year in college, and that's when we went to that concert. We had 4th row seats because tickets went on sale during an ice storm, and I walked to the arena from my dorm room to get good seats. On the way back to my room from the concert, I could barely stand up - turned out I had strep throat, and DH got it soon after I did.

All that in a drumstick!

It's only 10:00 in the morning and I'm craving pork & sauerkraut with mashed potatoes and corn. Is that weird?
