In an effort to make it easier for mods to manage the conversations next week after the meetings, and to keep things organized, please let me know what your preference is!

I’ll set up the threads on Monday, and then open them up Tuesday morning once information comes in.

Who will decide what the key topics are? Just curious, I did vote to organize separate threads for them.

Separate threads please...

I am so disappointed to not be there Tuesday morning... Would have meant unfortunately almost an entire day off work, and decided to use that time for an actual Disney trip...

Had I known how much news would break this week! Well, might have made a different choice!

It would be me but any specific topic that is discussed that people would like to see in its own thread, we can get set up!

I am just trying to keep it streamlined and manageable. My initial thought is that the key topics will be renting, and walking....and then maybe information about the point charts from the two resorts that had changes.

Plus any new information about the fee!!

To add, any topic for the meeting can be discussed! This will not prevent that!

It’s just how we manage and merge if threads get started for similar things!!

I forget, can you did a wiki type first post here or no?

I think it might be beneficial to have a main thread with all the topics and pertinent info regarding each with a link to a thread that has more details on the topic.

Like if walking is a big topic, have a synopsis of what was discussed regarding walking then under that have a link to the thread about that specific topic as related to walking.

Would be easier for people to get a broad highlight of everything in one spot vs having to navigate a ton of individual threads. If they wanna get deeper on the subject, can go to the specific post for it and have at it.

I am not as technically with it but I can certainly attempt that!

What I will do is keep post #1 of every thread updated with official answers from DVC that are reported.

General thread with links in post # 1 of that thread to indivual threads!

BCV:

Plan was just sit and listen. Turned out, used mic one first session. Plus mic time second budget session.

#1: who is in charge of a ‘Refresh’ & ‘Refurbish’… like making decision to use Donald rugs etc? Board along with resort management will decide on the yearly budget plan. Will use owners and resort recommendations. Then they take that idea & $$$ transfers to a team. That team makes the decisions & manages the work. Sounds like random luck on the team you will receive. I mentioned each resort seems to get a different quality of work. Thanked Mr Stafford & board for just recent ‘Refresh’ turned out..top notch! Plus how well maintained the grounds are.

#2 Budget. I see the use of a three piece pie & understand each resort will balance them for what is required. I mentioned, it seems some DVC dues are so much different in percent increase each year. (Mentioned to them in regards to BCV..imo, I see the results. I felt we got what we paid for this year). Mr. Stafford advised us on what resort had done, being done, and future planned projects for the entire resort.

The 2042 expiration and extension plan was audience asked. Got canned response of looking at it all as approach 2042. Wait & see response. (Therefore we should just sit back and relax..got a long path to 2042.)

Mr. Stafford has noticed that BCV reservations are mostly with owners. Very limited renting goes on here!

After meeting was able to have Mr Stafford’s ear. Again.,awesome guy. Took this next request very seriously. Knowing the board etc will likely be completely different in 2042, I’m not an extension fan. (I just want to plant this seed & see if it germinates in 2042). If BCV decides to keep structure and start a new association, please..instead of giving prior owners just some low 10% off the points…say if $500 a point by 2042..give owners a full 50% off for having owned at expiration. In this case $250 per point would be price to get in on it again.

Great meeting. Glad I attended.

50% off at expiration…. 🤣

I guess it never hurts to ask….but this is DISNEY we are talking about….

I think it will depend on how little they want to do...

I think offering a blanket 20242 extension to any owners at the 2042s for 50% off up to 2x their current amount of points at their home resort (given the fact the charts won't be as kind) would be a classy touch...

Will they need to do it? Will they even keep all these buildings? (could they say demolish BCV or BRV, maybe) time will tell...

Negative!..Don’t think you understand. That’s 50% off a new contract BCV 2.0, buying 25 or more direct points at 50% the current point cost in 2042 for having been a good standings owner of BCV 1.0 when it dies. It’s a brand new association reset. May be up to $500 a point?. $730?…for active resorts, before whatever any incentives at the time. BCV 2.0 will open Feb 1, 2042 and expire Jan 31, 2092. 50% off the going point price to own at BCV 2.0 would be pretty darn good. At least I think so. Nobody making you buy again..let BCV 1.0 die.. and walk off into the sunset.

We are not talking an association extension. One dies & the next is born. Buying the newborn at a price NOBODY will be offered. NOBODY.

This idea & concept would be for all 2042 deaths..like even BRV

OKW doesn’t officially die till 2057. Just those OKW owners with 2042 will go bye-bye. TAKE DOWN all their old pictures (which for years now we can’t put one up). Those owners can buy direct OKW points at current market value if want a new contract expiring 2057. (That’s not an extension to the original either. ‘It’s a whole new world’……

No, I got it. I just don’t think there is anyway Disney would take a 50% haircut on a resort with BCV’s location…. even with a new jacked up point chart….

I agree and honestly, I think they know that wlll be a prime location and won’t need to discount to convince anyone to buy again, assuming they are at that point in their life where they want to commit to DVC for longer.

Correct, even though this is ONLY for the resort owners that made it to the end, at their now crusty old age & still actually wanting to have a contract again here. If all owners buy all the 2.0 points at 50% off..it’s an another sold out resort immediately. LOL..you & I know that’s not going to happen. That’s still a boat load of money, even at 50% per point, to be able to afford that?!?! Have you even laid in bed, late at night, broke out in a cold sweat trying to imagine the dues price per points for 2041??? 🤯.

But yes..I asked them to consider such an offer in 2041, when 2.0 goes on the market, so you can start booking 11 months out from Feb 1, 2042.

Same for Hilton Head …Vero…if DVD keeps the property, starts a new association, and not pass the property to the mother company, turning it into a full out hotel again

In some business circles, it’s called loyalty. Got to stop thinking Disney is a money hungry giant, feasting on our flesh & wallets, ALL the time. Your wishes will come true..if you just believe.
