Does anyone know the conditions of the 2br's at BWV? I thought I read a report from a member recently who said the room was not in good shape.

How recently have they been refurbished?

Any info would be helpful.

How many are there? Are there different types-dedicated, lock-off, etc.?

Are they quiet? What one would you request if you wanted quiet?

Thanks in advance for any info.

All of BWV's 2 bedrooms are lockoffs, no dedicated.

If you want quiet, if you have a standard view I would request away from the entrance; if you have preferred view I would request quiet pool view.

I stayed in a standard view 1 bedroom in December, it was in OK shape, a few wear and tear spots but nothing major. The balcony needed work, which is what they are working on now. Interior renovations were done 2 or 3 years ago.

Room reports are here, some good, some bad:

You have to be careful with the room reports. Most people will post something bad, but if you are like me and have been traveling annually since the begining, '92, and never gotten a below par room, you would never fill out a room report.

Get a room with a huge ketchup stain on the carpet, and you enter a room report.

I've stayed at the BWV in Oct 2002 and march 2003 and they seemed fine to me....a few wear and tear items...but I'd never label them in poor shape....

We have had 2br the last two Februarys and both were in great shape. I agree with Rich. You rarely hear good but you ALWAYS hear bad.

I don't think that's necessarily true of the DIS DVC Room Reports. Board Members post good reports if they have them too. Especially new members who are thrilled with their first trip home. Of the 8 reports for BWV, there were 4 - 3's (Average), 3 - 4's (Above Average) and 1 - 5 (Excellent). I posted a 4 report for December (gone now).

hi: stayed in a 2br in nov.- all just fine. no, never posted a trip report ever.

I've never posted a room report and doubt I ever will. The one and only time that there was something about the room that we felt wasn't up to standard, I called the front desk/maintenance and it was quickly taken care of. FWIW, some of the things that I've read in the room reports seem very picky to me and are probably things I wouldn't notice or let bother me if I did. I have to admit that I haven't read any room reports for well over a year.

The main reason I don't do room reports myself is that IMHO, they tend to encourage people to make specific or excessive room requests (trying to avoid the "bad" rooms/views). I think this sets them up for disappointment. I also feel sorry for the room assigners & front desk CMs - their job is hard enough. Nothing like witnessing the adult in front of you "meltdown" over a room assignment to start off your vacation!

Based on my personal experience, DVC does a good job maintaining our homes - and they can do even better when we let them know if something isn't right.

floridafam - I'm sure you will enjoy your stay at BWV. We've only stayed in standard views so far (all room sizes), and all have been in good shape. (The rooms are smaller than those at VB, but you proably already know that). The "quieter" rooms tend to be those farthest from the elevators. The only "noise" that we've noticed from our standard views is that from the EPCOT fireworks (which was actually welcome, LOL) and that from children running through the halls. You can minimize that by asking for a room away from the elevators. Also, if your standard view room is close to the elevators, occasionally you may notice a bus idling and sometimes, the people leaving the Boardwalk at the end of the evening are pretty loud. Enjoy your trip!
