Hello all, I'm thinking of bringing some english muffins to have for breakfast in our hotel room (Art of Animation suites) since we will have access to a toaster. Does anyone know if the food court has a condiment bar that we'd have access to with things like butter packets, jelly or jam, peanut butter, etc. It would definitely save on shipping costs if I don't have to pack my own :) Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer!

Butter, yes.
Jelly, probably - although likely only grape. Maybe strawberry.
Peanut butter, no.

I routinely pack a (plastic) jar of peanut butter in my checked luggage. It doesn't take much space, and pressurization does not bother it.

An option to bring your own PB are those Jif to go packs. Just a thought. :)

I bring my own. Why take from the guests that are paying to have breakfast there?

No offense, but any condiments in the food court would be meant to be used by people that have purchased items from the food court. You should probably just bring your own.

This!!!
You can order individual travel size packages for cents from Minimus.biz
We order from them and bring them with us.
The items at the food court are meant for the people who buy food there and not free to anyone who feels like taking some. This is why we all pay more.

Normally I agree with not taking condiments. However we will be staying 8 days and will be eating at the food court several times. If I were to grab an extra butter packet with my breakfast one morning for my breakfast the next day, I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm still a paying customer and I'm not talking about going in and grabbing a handful as I walk through. I was mostly curious about peanut butter but since they don't have that available I will be sending some along in my package of other non-perishables. The reason I asked in the first place was I remember reading somewhere about people making their kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the food court and only buying the bread for like 50 cents. I was shocked that people were allowed to do that but I figured if they could then I could grab a pack for my kiddo. But no harm done, I can easily pack it, I was just trying to save on shipping weight :thumbsup2

I don't see any problem with grabbing an extra butter or PB on a day you have purchased your breakfast from the food court. From your OP it sounded like you were bringing your own breakfast and planning on using items from the condiment section of the food court to supplement it. I didn't mean anything personal against you, just sometimes people get crazy about how they go about "saving money" to get to Disney :).

Also, you may know this, but I don't believe the suites have toasters. You will be able to use the toasters in the food court, but I don't belive there is one in the suite.

Packing tip - a small jar of peanut butter fits nicely into a shoe packed in luggage.

I'm pretty sure I saw Smuckers Peanut Butter in the little plastic containers like their Jellies at the Beach Club Marketplace where they keep the condiments.

They have jelly and butter available at no cost. They also have individual packages of peanut butter or cream cheese that are (or were) .50. :)

Really? There are signs that say this? Or do you just assume that? Perhaps the free condiments, plastic utensils, straws and napkins may very well be available to those paying to stay at the resort? Goodness, are we really going to begrudge a resort guest a pat of butter or ounce of jelly?

Yup. I was thinking the same thing.

Well, considering they had to put barcodes on the cups to prevent the guest who didn't actually buy a drink from helping themselves to the soda, they probably don't put condiments out to provide free food to the entire resort. I posted that I agreed that if the OP had purchased something at the food court one morning, it wouldn't be a problem if she grabbed an extra butter or peanut butter for the next day, however, if everyone brought their own bread or bagels, and grabbed handfuls of butter and peanut butter from the condiment bar for their own use, then Disney would probably stop offering this benefit for the people who it is intended - the people who pay to eat at the food court. Why do you think they need to post a sign that says "The condiments on the counter at the food court are intended to be used only by people who have purchased food at the food court"? Shouldn't that be common sense??

Common sense - all the items mentioned can reasonably be expected to be for use by food court, not resort Guests.

And how sad is it that people have to be told that condiments and utensils are for customers of the food court, and not for those just trying to take advantage of the current system. Previous abuse led to the current RFID chipped drink cups. What next- do they need to pay for extra CMs to man the condiments/utensils stands and dole out supplies to each customer because they can't be trusted with an honour system?

By your code, apparently you'd be right behind those fine folks who think the toppings bar is an open invitation to build their own free salad because their family paid for a fountain drink to share. An extreme example, to be sure, and I'm not saying the OP would contemplate such a thing. But it is certainly an extension of your argument.

No kidding.
