Still staying at the Portofino ~ :teeth:

Sunday was our last day, but we were unable to sleep very late - when there is so much excitement right outside your door, well, who can sleep??

We got dressed & headed downstairs to the Tratatoria for breakfast. After breakfast we headed back up stairs so I could change my shirt. Apparently in all the breakfast excitement, I spilled maple syrup on my shirt. Not a lot, mind you, it was just a drop, but it was dead center & I refused to walk around like that all day!!
(DH was cracking up, because HE is the one who always spills something on his shirt - this time he was happy to have the roles reversed!)

Ok, so, with a fresh non-sticky, shirt on, we headed back out - today we are going to IOA!! WHEEEEE!!!:hyper:

Being a woman, I of course wandered around doing some, no, scratch that , A LOT of shopping in Port of Entry.

We made the left out of Port of Entry into Marvel. Having a belly full of french toast ( and remembering that I *already* had to change a shirt) we opted to skip The Hulk.

We headed right for Spiderman!!
Boy do I love using that room key to get into the express line ! You really can't beat that.
More shopping in Marvel & then headed into Toon Lagoon. DH was ready for Popeye's, but I (having already made one wardrobe change) was not - we decided to skip it for now & come back later in the day.

Spent a LOT of time in the Lost Continent area where you can get your family crests made. Boy are those neat! They can be expensive, but they are very nice & would made a lovely keepsake. (we just looked)

By the time we got to Suess, I was in the mood for lunch.
It was high noon & the sun :sunny: was out, so we headed back to the hotel to get something from Sal's deli.
We split a pizza, 3/4 of it pepperoni for him & two slices just cheese for me. Also picked up some sides - tomato & mozzerella salad ( so yummy) and marinated olives & mushrooms. My mouth is watering just writing about this!!!
We took it to go & ate upstairs on the balcony ( ahhhh)
After lunch, DH decided it was time for a nap, so while he napped, I drew a bubble bath & relaxed in the bath. :cloud9:

After baths & naps we were re-energized !!! Dressed in clothes that would be good for drying quickly after Popeye, we headed out to IOA again. Went *directly* to Popeye & got soaked:umbrella: (did I *really* think I would be able to stay dry??)
Picked up a Spongebob towel on the way out of Popeyes ( my collection of character towels is growing!)
Well, we are already wet, why not go to Jurassic Park River Adventure?? OK! off we go!
There was almost NO line, so we went twice!!
Well, we are still wet, lets' go back on Popeyes!! OK, lets!!!

Well, by this time, I dont' think there was any hope of ever being dry ever again :umbrella:
We had had our fill of water rides ( Dudley was being rehabed, that's why there is no mention of that ride)
So I wrapped my $20.00 Spongebob towel around me as tight as it would go & we headed for the exit.

As we rounded into Port of Entry, the smell of Cinnabon started to tickle my nose. "Give me money!" I demanded of my loving DH.
He simply asked how much I needed, I think that Cinnabon tickled his nose too!!!

2 Cinnabons to go & we headed for the exit turnstiles. Off to the dock to wait for the boat to the Portofino.

The water at Popeyes *MUST* be chilled, because I was freezing by the time we got back to the hotel.
Warm showers for everyone!!!!
Got dressed for dinner, but decided that we would rather relax in the room on our last night, so we ordered in.
DH had a bacon cheeseburger with fries & I had a tomato & mozzerella salad. Also ordered a fruit & cheese platter to snack on later in the evening. ( very nice, had fruit ( grapes, strawberries, orange & melon) and cheeses ( at least 3 or 4 kinds) and crackers)
Had dinner on the balcony to enjoy the view for the last time this trip. * sigh* can't we just LIVE here ?????

After dinner, watched a little TV & tried to pack as much as possible so that I wouldn't have a lot to fuss with. Then, it was off to bed.

It's a shame vacations don't last longer. We had a great time & Mardi Gras really ROCKED! :jester:
We will be back soon ( And I mean it, look at that countdown timer!!! LOL)

Thanks for reading my adventures. I'm sorry they are so late in getting posted.

Look for the Mummy AP event trip report, well, not soon, but hopefully sooner than this one took to get posted!

Haggy pirate:

sounds like you had a blast

thanks for taking the time to post

:sunny:

I enjoyed reading your reports. Thanks for posting!

My pleasure!
I'm so glad to hear that they were good reading!:jester:

I love those PBH bubble baths. That is where my son had his first and he was hooked. You had a balcony big enough to sit on? Deluxe? View? Did you get an upgrade? The beds are truly nice but you are right, who can sleep with adventure on the other side of the door?
You skipped Dr. Doom? You could have shared the syrup with everyone!
We love Popeye and inevitably end up buying towels, t-shirts, socks, etc. I like it when someone asks "Are we going to get wet?"
Glad to hear you had fun. RPR is not PBH but you still get the magic FOTL keys. Have fun with the Mummy.

Thanks for reporting sounds wonderful I love having a balcony on hols and eating or relaxing have a drink watching the sun go down:jester:

Thanks mother - I was wondering what the fate of my bubble baths would be at the Royal Pacific - I know it's a smaller room, so I'm *hoping* there will be a bathtub - goodness knows I don't get to take bubble baths at home!!!!

Yes, skipped Dr. Doom, but I *ALWAYS* skip that one
<~~~Check the tag LOL

The hulk would have been to much that morning - and I'm not sure that everyone would have wanted some of my french toast & syrup!!! LOL!!!

Balcony was big enough to sit on - there was a table & chairs out there too - view was facing the parks, so I saw road (to the right), beach pool (to the left) & grass & the man-made lake (straight view) with the parks in the background (small & tough to see)
Room was on the 6th floor - I'm ashamed to admit this, but I CANNOT for the life of me remember the room number :headache: I will look it up when I go home & post it for you - maybe you can request it ???

Great report. I can't wait to go back. That tomato and mozarella salad sounds heavenly. My mouth is watering too!

RPR is not the best place for a bubble bath (small) and you'll need to take your own bubbles. My daughter got some Shrek bath soap last night.
Sounds like you were in a villa wing deluxe. PBH is nice, the kids like HRH, but now that we've been to all 3 the real reason we stay on-site is the magic room keys. So RPR standard will do unless there is a special occasion like National Potato Week or one of my kids gets a job or something!

Room # was 6277! ( see, taking notes *does* come in handy!!!)
Thanks for the tip *adds bubbles to list of things to pack* Small tub is ok, I'm pretty short!!

This trip will make us members of the "been to all 3 resorts" club.
We already have plans for the Portofino in October ( that one is our favorite!) & want to stay at the hard rock again soon.

And, I'm going to need to know a little bit more about this "potato week"!! :)
