My DH loves steak, and since we've never been here, we thought we'd give it a try. I tried to do a search, but it seems to be disabled, so would anyone care to give reviews of this restaurant - food, atmosphere?
I had an free night available on my last trip and tried the Concourse Steak House. I thought the meal was good. The food was all good but not spectacular...well the bread and dessert were excellent. I was sitting in a small booth under the monorail track and could see most of the dining area. It is fine but the atmosphere was not special, to me. The service was awesome, extremely cordial and attentive. I think most of the fine restaurants around the Seven Seas Lagoon are more interesting so probably wouldn't head back to the Concourse Steak House but I wouldn't say no if someone invited me to go!
Our 2 year old was very welcome there, it was a nice place to eat. The steak was delicious, dh's ribs were good too. We loved the appetizer sesame chicken. I posted pics on the pictures of food thread up above, about post 435 or so. It would be fine to take a 2 year old there.
We love this restaurant. Dinner is always good and for Disney reasonable. The Prime Rib and steak are delicious. It is your basic meat and potatoes kind of place.
I'm with Grumpy92 about it being a good meat and potatoes place. It all depends on what kind of steak you are looking for. If your DH is a steak connoisseur and looking for a choice Angus steak then it's probably not what you are looking for.
It isn't the Yachtsman...but then again it isn't priced like the Yachtsman either. We have always had great service there, kids are welcome and service is quick so that's a plus with small ones. I would put the food on a level with Outback or maybe a notch above that...we love eating there when we stay at the CR because it is so convienent...never the hustle and bustle of Chef Mickeys (which is right next door).
We ate there the beginning of the month. My husband had the shrimp cocktail to start and then steak . I tried to eat the caesar salad and the penne with chicken. They had this shaved cheese she said parmesan but to me it was very yucky. I picked it off the caesar salad and had them remove it from my penne it was ontop. THey came back with an olive oil on the penne and a piece of chicken. My husband said this is a place that you only order steak. We wont be goign back. The atmosphere was okay the monorail above kept my dd who is 6 occupied.
I would order the macaroni and cheese off the kids menu next time and share with my dd . It looked really good. Anything is better than plain penne. I was disappointed.

I've had breakfast and dinner at the Concourse, I like it there. Blueberry pancakes were yummy for breakfast, and the steak was very good at dinner. Also, never had a problem just walking up and being seated without a PS. It's a nice relaxing restaurant, with the monorail and the mural. Also fun to watch the napkins waving next door!
We had a very enjoyable dinner at the Concourse, DD4 was very pre-occupied with the monorail so DH and I actually had some "real" conversation without worrying she was getting board and ready to go. She loved the artists palette dessert, kept her quite busy we actually had to tell her it was time to go rather than her asking us.
Our steaks were great we had the chipotle ribyes, we enjoyed them. Desserts were excellent too!
How would everyone rate this next to LeCellier? We're trying to decide between the two. Right now we have ADRs at LeCellier. We're looking for a good steak on the dining plan.
I have eaten at Concourse, LeCellier, and Yachtsman. I rank them as follows
1. LeCellier
2. Yachtsman
3. Concourse
I would say LeCellier and Yachtsman are very close by comparison. However, I did not like Concourse. I will not go back to Concourse, and will visit LeCellier before Yachtsman.
Maybe I caught it on a bad night but Concourse was not good.
How does the Concourse Steak House compare to Chef Mickeys?
It sounds like my DH would prefer CSH but DD12 &DD8 would get a
kick out of the charaters at CM. We are staying at the Contemporary
so it would be easy to do both but I'm not sure if I want to.
I need advice
Concourse Steakhouse is not the same scale at all as Chef Mickey's. That's like comparing apples and oranges. I would do both if I were you, one is fine dining (I would put concourse above Outback steak quality wise, but below Ruth's Cris) and the other is hyperactive character interaction buffet.
I had the mashed white sweet potatoes with my steak and very fresh veggies too. It was a wonderful meal, only wish we hadn't been so tired from all day at Typhoon Lagoon (and so sun burnt!).
I think your two year old would want to be at cm witch is next to it with mickey and goofy if It will not scare him or her. Some little ones get a little scared
maybe we had an "off day".
Went to CS on a day we didn't go to parks (otherwise would do LeCellier in a heartbeat... the best). Night before we went to Maya Grill (an unexpected GEM). Well ordered the smoothies for drink, chicken wings for appy (crunchy and cold), DH had fillet was like leather and no flavor, DS had strip steak .... poor quality and I Had ribs since the previous two nights had steak (and was getting steaked-out). Had ribs at maya the night before that were excellent. Well, ribs were inedible I got "ill on something" so I was in restroom a while, didn't send it back (since we were on meal plan) but didn't enjoy it either. May be we should have said something.
Dessert was a disappointment to.
Hope it was "just us". We went back to Maya Grill again and had a wonderful meal... well worth it for those staying at CSR>
