Concourse Steakhouse? cancel or not?

Just to start does anyone know why the Concourse Steakhouse is closing?

I made ADRs for Nov there but I have been reading a handful of reviews that are less than stellar. And I have been having second doubts about this adr. What TS place would you suggest that is on the monorail or in MK for dinner?

We ate there a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that it was my husband's favorite of the trip. I chose it because DS wanted Chef Mickey's due to the monorail coming through, but alas I waited too long to get ADR's. I was a little scared too but it was really nice. Another nice dinner with wonderful service was the Grand Floridian Cafe.

No help here, but I am in the same position-- ADR for November 25 and am unsure to keep or cancel too... I also am very dissapointed in the presentation of the food there that I see in the photo section.

From All Ears-- March or April 2008 closing date is supported in other threads here also.

Big changes are coming to the dining options at the Contemporary Resort. The Food and Fun Center will close in July to be converted to a new table service restaurant. Beginning July 30, 2007, a temporary quick service restaurant called Tempo Grab and Go will operate near the Outer Rim lounge on the 4th Floor. It will be open through August 14, 2008. The new table service location will be called The Wave, and is tentatively set to open in late March or April 2008. Once The Wave opens, the Concourse Steakhouse will close and a new, permanent quick service restaurant will be constructed in that space, set to debut in mid-August 2008.

Concourse Steakhouse was one of my favorite meals of my recent trip. The food was tasty and I'm crazy for the Contemporary so it was a real treat for me to be able to eat there. If it were me I'd take advantage of the opportunity to eat at this wonderful restaurant before it closes for good

We are eating at the Concourse Steakhouse and Grand Floridian cafe on our next trip. We have always enjoyed both of them through the years. They are not popular right now but as these sites go most things are popular at one time or another. Go with confidence and enjoy the corn and crab bisque

We just got back from WDW and had dinner at Councourse Steakhouse & it was delicious!!! YUMM!!! Our entire party of 8 thought it was great. I'd stick with it for sure. And....their butterfinger cheesecake for dessert is the bomb! BTW - I had the filet.

If you are thinking of cancelling and want another option - I have to say that Kona Cafe at the Poly was fantastic too.

CS was one of our better choices for TS in April. I was hoping to go back in October of 2008, since many of our other choices did not really appeal to me after eating there. CS, while promising a view of the monorail whisking by, seated us under a soffit in the corner, so we didn't see anything....but I was willing to give it another try, which I see now will not happen.

The food itself wasn't bad- they actually had the best dessert out of any of the restaurants we tried....the chocolate cake was tasty sez i.

Does anyone know what type of food this new restaurant called the Wave will serve? Sounds californian, but isn't the restaurant on the top of the CR, californian or is it only the name?

Glad to hear this because we have ADR's for Nov 11 and I was beginning to worry. My dd's really wanted to do Chef Mickey's because we have never eaten there, but I waited too long. So, Concourse Steakhouse it is.

We really enjoy the Concourse Steak house, we will miss our dinners there, if it might be gone soon you should give it a try!
