Concorse Steakhouse (CR) Question

We're staying at the Contemporary and are thinking of just dining at the Concorse Steakhouse for dinner the day we arrive. DH has some concern about it being so close to the character dinner at Chef Mickey's (we're doing the character breakfast the next morning, but don't want to futher overstimulate our 3 year old, in hopes he will ever go to bed) We stayed there about 6 years ago and DH thinks they were only separated by a curtain.

So my question is this: is the restaurant totally separate from Chef Mickey's? Can you still see what's going on in there? I'd hate for my son to see the characters and other kids interacting and him not able to.

Thank you!!

We ate at the Concourse last year and there was definitely walls separating it from CM. I don't think my 4 year old DD even realized what type of dining was going on next door. My DH loved Concourse and we were going to go back again this year but I persuaded him to try Le Cellier for a change.

There is no curtain seperating the two, just walls/plants. When you are seated at your table you cannot see CM's but, depending on where your table is, you can hear it. Watching the monorails go by is a good distraction though.

We LOVE  Concourse. Hope you enjoy!

You have to be over 6 foot tall to see the tops of the other people at Chef Mickeys. Both restuarants are open air, sothey are both noisy. We at there New Years last year. We had a fantastic meal.

My kids didn't (3 & 4) even notice Chef Mickey's next door last week. They were both busy watching the monorail pass by and trying to guess the color of the stripe of the next monorail to go by.

I thought it was a great meal. :)

We just ate there last week, as already stated my dd5 ds7 didn't even notice how close they were. It is noisy tho. Food is great, service was great, my dd got a mickey head cookie on a palette with a paint brush and got to "paint" her cookie with icing and sprinkles, she loved it. My ds got a mm brownie with ice cream, a highlight for both of them. We have also ate Le Cellier, which was much quieter and altho the food at the concorse was great, I'd give Le Cellier an A+.

As above posters have said, there is only a 6-8 ft wall separating the two restaurants. You cannot see CM, but when the napkin waving song came on, we could hear it. Again, it isn't really distracting with all the other things to look at.

Great meal. Kids love the paint your own cookie palette!

The only time you will hear & notice the guests in Chef Mickey's waiving the napkins is every half hour, so it won't be a distraction because it's not like it happens every 5 minutes. The 2 times my family & I eat at the Concourse Steakhouse when they were waiving the napkins at Chef Mickey's no one was paying any attention, so they continuted to eat their meals. I remember seeing a table of kids who looked between 8-10 years old, they did not look like they cared what was going on. Basically they never ran up to their parents saying, what is going on over there with the music & the napkins?

We were seated near the entrance of Concourse. We couldn't hear any of the goings on at CM. You could ask for a table on that side of the restaraunt.
