Location: 5 nights - Boardwalk Inn 3 nights- Beach Club
Good: 1) Light Crowds - Basically walk on every attraction (except for 30 min waits during
peak times (12:00- 3:00 pm) at MK on Sat - mostly fantasyland rides)
2) Boardwalk Inn - Beautiful room
3) Beach Club - Ok, but not as nice as BWI
4) Weather was mostly perfect (except 2 days of rain, Test Track kept closing)
5) CMs 99% were cheerful and helpful (see Bad for exception)
6) Parades, shows, and fireworks were still full of MAGIC
7) Except for Boardwalk restaurants PSs were not needed
Bad: 1) CM did not pick up my room service breakfast order card on door of room. I called
room service after the expected delivery time had expired and explained what had
happened. They had my breakfast delivered in less than 15 minutes (Way to go
CMs!)
2) Miserable beer selection at almost all WDW restaurants. According to a bartender
(a CM) who shall remain nameless (a really nice guy), WDW negotiates contracts
with the beer distributers (or brewers?) that give them the best prices. Hence the
customer is stuck with a small selection of beers, just so WDW can save a few bucks.
For the prices WDW charges for its meals and drinks, you would think they could offer
it's customers a much better selection of imports (like Newcastle Brown, hint hint).
3) CM JAN at the ADVENTURER's CLUB. My DW and I got there just after the last show
of the night had started. The door CMs said we could probably get in. Went to the
library and the doors were open. JAN was letting the drink servers in and there
seemed to be plenty of seats still available, but when I asked if my wife and I could
get in she refused. Way to go JAN! Thank god most CMs aren't like you or else WDW
would have went belly-up a long time ago.
CONCLUSIONS: The week before Thanksgiving is a great time to go to WDW (but stay away
from the Adventurer's Club if JAN is on duty.
