our vacation is planned for march and we are staying wl deluxe. What is concierge and why does everyone want it?

Are you staying in the Deluxe room? If so, concierge is not included.

WL does not have a concierge lounge (it was never planned to have concierge service). They do have concierge services and a food offerings but I guess you have to take them back to your room to enjoy. I don't know if they have any plans to create a lounge. Does anyone else know?

It's true that WL doesn't have a lounge "room", but they do have a lounge area. The whole top floor (7th floor?) is concierge level and is accessed by a coded key that you use in a slot in the elevator. There are many tables with chairs next to the railing that overlooks the lobby. This area is shaped like a big 'U' with the bottom of the U facing the pool area and the tips of the U at the front of the lodge. The bottom of the "U" is where the food offerings are set up, and the concierge CM's have an area in the elevator lobby. I find it's actually more relaxing than an actual lounge room because the tables are spread out. It's a little more private and never seemed busy when we were there. The downside is there isn't a TV (at least I don't recall one).

We love it there. Hope this helps!

There are small tables and chairs set up around the balcony area. You do'nt need to take offerings back to your room.

While the WL was nice, with no place to sit while you worked with the concierge staff on PS's or other needs, and no "dedicated" lounge, it was lacking and it will never be on the short list for WDW CL rooms. I heard a rumour that they will be doing some remodeling and adding an actual lounge. Hopefully it won't be like the YC/BC where they close the doors to the lounge a good part of the time during the day, and even when it is open, there's no comfortable seating area, just tables and chairs like a restaurant, which we didn't like.
