I am trying to decide if we want concierge during our honeymoon at the Grand.

Can anyone give me advice one way or another - one reason why it is attractive is because they can make reservations for you at the upper scale restaurants which are the only places we really want to be eating....

Thanks!

Hi LongCove!

DH and I stayed concierge at the YC for our HM. We also ate at upscale restaurants, however we made the PS ourselves before hand. I would say the regarding PS, Concierge is good at getting the last-minute on the spot ones, or making changes. I'm not sure what the difference would be in them making them ahead of time for you. You can go ahead and make your own - even at the upscale places.

What we liked about concierge was the "pampered" feeling. Someone always ready to help you with anything. We did take advantage of their service for some things. There is also a nice feel of exclusivity, that adds a special touch about your concierge stay.We really liked the lounge and the meals. We never purchased breakfast - we got coffee etc every morning from the lounge. In the evening and night, we really liked the wine and cordials that they set out. By having a drink before/after dinner there, we saved $$ on drinks during dinner.

It is a nice touch, and if you can afford it - go for it! It will add an extra special touch to your HM!!

congrats!

How do I go about finding out the concierge level food and beverage offerings at the different resorts?
We have stayed concierge level before and found it to be a great savings of both time and money for our family, but I knew what the offerings were beforehand. I'd really like to know about WL, CR(12th floor), + AKL. Also, I don't know alot about the Epcot area resorts, which ones there offer concierge?

YC, BC, and BWI all offer concierge at Epcot. I beleive the Swan and the Dolphin offer the "Club Level", which is their own concierge.

I have also found that if the concierge books your PS you usually get a better table without even asking. It does show in the system that the PS was booked by concierge and the restaurants tend to give the better views, etc. to the concierge guests. Now I'm saying it's right for them to do this but it has been my experience that this is what happens. You get a few of those little "extras" when you're not expecting it. My son was chosen sight unseen to be "Chef of the Day" at Crystal Palace a few weeks ago. Did it have anything to do with concierge making our PS's? Maybe not but it sure did seem like a lot of special things happened on this trip. YC is my favorite concierge but I'm sure GF has a fantastic staff also. In fact, I arranged through Todd, the manager of Narcoossee's to have special desserts for each member of my family when we dined there on July 6. He not only greeted us in the lobby and escorted us to the table but he also made sure we got a window table. These are the little things that add so much to your vacation and would really make a honeymoon even more magical.
