Meaning, where do you get the most bang for your buck? I know part of this is subjective, but that's okay. I want any and all opinions.

I seriously, seriously doubt we'll be switching the POR part of our ressie to a deluxe concierge, but it is fun to dream. ;)

:)

Concierge and value in the same sentence is a bit of an oxymoron, isn't it?

I don't think there is a single answer to this, because it depends on what is important to you.

Some would say the WL or CR 12th Floor, because it's the least expensive. Personally, if I'm spending that much to begin with, a little more to get a lot more in terms of service or a more inviting experience makes sense.

I dont look at CL for any "value", I stay where I feel comfortable, and where I enjoy the level of service I receive. I prefer the AKL, the Polynesian, the BWI, and the CR 14th Floor.

This is what I'm getting at. Yes, WL is the cheapest, but there is no real lounge. That to me would make it not the best value, kwim? You're not getting much bang for your buck if you are spending that much more for your stay. It could very well be that the priciest concierge resort is also the best value. I'm not just talking cheap here. Value doesn't always mean cheap, IMO. :)

They are currently doing construction on the 7th floor. And there will be a new lobby by late June early July. Just talked to them on the phone.

Right, but the WL is building a lounge... so...

I don't really have a point.

Oooh, a lounge! That complicates my question! I wonder if there will be a price change to match?

Well, if thye duplicate the BC/YC and add tables and chairs, who cares? That's not a comfortable inviting place, that's a restaurant.

If they reflect the AKL, BWI, CR 14th Floor, or the Polynesian, with comfortable seating, room to stretch out in, and gracious hosts and hostesses who circulate through greeting guests, then it will possibly change my opinion.

Dis2Times - I think maybe the Poly garden view concierge is a good value. You get full concierge service, food/soda offerings throughout the whole day, the lounge is open all day......I think it is just a little more money than CR 12th floor and probably one of the least expensive full concierge stays you can have. I stayed LVC last summer and I just didn't love the Poly too much. ( I know there are MANY on the Dis that do, just my experience there :confused3 )

I enjoy the CR 12th floor myself and actually think that and the Sugar Loaf GF give you a lot of bang for your buck - but I am not usually sitting around the resort, either. We are almost always out of our room for the day by 10:30 and don't return until evening or sometimes a late afternoon rest break. I think it depends what you are expecting out of your stay and your daily plans. We like the preplanning service, the availability of the concierge staff, the bfast, but that is about all we take advantage of, so for us light concierge is fine.

Not to say I don't LOVE the GF RPC, but that is definitely a splurge. I did it over the Thanksgiving holiday week because I knew we would be around the resort more than we usually are. (It was FABULOUS) For us, WDW is about the parks first. We always stay deluxe because I love to be near the parks. If I was going on my WDW vacation and was planning on really taking advantage of the resort, I may go ahead with the RPC again. I may just do that anyway..... :) but as far as "value" I still think poly GVC.

Happy planning :earsgirl:

They actually all offer very different things.

At the GF and CR you could choose to stay in "light" concierge. It's less money than full service, but you get almost the exact same amenities with the exception of a lighter food service offering.

I've heard the WL referred to as a lighter form of concierge, but that's probably because there is no lounge as of yet. I don't know how much difference that new lounge will make, only time will tell.

YC, BC and BW are priced somewhat lower than the Poly & GF, but the food offerings are not as extensive as the other resorts and the views at the YC leave much to be desired.

AKL has the added benefit of offering a sunrise or sunset safari exclusive to their concierge guests. It is an additional cost, but at this time, I don't think that any of the other resorts offer anything like that.

I would have to say that the most bang for your buck is going to be CR 14th floor, Poly or the GF main building. They are of course the most expensive, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for and they have a very high level of service.
