I am trying to determine if this is worth the added fee. Can someone please tell me what benefits are offered and included?

Will you be on one of the classic ships (Magic & Wonder) or one of the newer ships (Dream & Fantasy)? The concierge benefits differ on the two classes of ships, with perhaps the biggest difference being that the newer ships have a concierge lounge while the classics do not. On the plus side for the classics, there are 2-bedroom suites that sleep up to 7 guests, which the newer ships lack. Here is a list of concierge benefits from DCL's web site. This list is for the newer ships and includes benefits for category V rooms (Concierge Family Oceanview Room w/Verandah). You can click on the "Concierge Suites" link on the left side of the screen to see the additional benefits for the suites.

Concierge Services
On the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, our signature Concierge service is an added benefit for all Suite and Concierge Stateroom Guests. It begins even before you board the ship and continues throughout your vacation and beyond.

Pre-Arrival Services
Disney Cruise Line conveniently offers pre-arrival Concierge services for Guests. You can pre-reserve many of your onboard activities and services online, starting from 120 days prior to your sail date. A dedicated Concierge Services Specialist is available Monday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. via a toll-free number, to provide personalized assistance in helping you plan every cruise detail, including:
•Port Adventures, Palo and Remy dining, spa treatments and nursery stay reservations
•Dining room seating preference requests
•Special occasions and celebration planning
•Assistance with all special requests, from before your arrival until after you cruise.

As a Concierge Guest, you'll enjoy the benefits of the ship's Concierge level special services and exclusive access to dedicated areas on the ship. The Concierge Lounge is centrally located amongst the Concierge Suites on Deck 12. In a stylish, modern setting, Guests can relax in quiet comfort, sip a cocktail, access the Internet, watch news on a large-screen TV and enjoy complimentary food and beverages offered throughout the day. From the Lounge, Concierge Guests have their own private entrance, an exclusive Concierge-only sun deck where they can soak up the sun in their exclusive onboard oasis. Enjoy tranquil breezes, cooling water misters, cushioned lounge chairs and a bar stocked with water and refreshments.

Verandah
The Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah showcases spectacular sea vistas from the private balcony, which features patio furniture, plexiglass railing and child locks for safety. Airy and private, this sanctuary is where you can watch the sunrise, sweet breezes and your morning coffee or an evening nightcap.

More Space
The stateroom features an interior design that allows Guests to stretch out in comfort, affording a feeling of spaciousness. To maximize space, the wooden bed frames are elevated to provide storage under the beds for suitcases and other large items. The leather-upholstered ottoman features an inside compartment for additional storage, and attractive yet functional cabinetry decorate the living area. Well-positioned wall shelving takes the place of night stands.

To the delight of the kids, a mural of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and her brothers soaring through a celestial sky is hidden in the ceiling of the upper berth pull-down bed.

H20 Plus Spa, Bath and Shower Products
In addition to our regular upgraded amenities and premium offerings, all Disney Cruise Line Guests will find luxurious H20 Plus spa, bath and shower products stocked in every bathroom. Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo, Marine Collagen Conditioner and Hydrating Body Butter let you absorb the enriching benefits of the ocean while sailing on the high seas.

þIn-suite dining options from the rotating restaurant menus

þPersonal assistance with any planning changes or updates

Bookings That Include Concierge Service

Disney's elite concierge service is only available to the top three suite categories on board and cannot be purchased for lower-priced cabins. The cabins that feature this exclusive service are:

þRoyal Suite: This 1,029-square foot suite features two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms complete with walk-in closets and whirlpool tubs. A private veranda offers expansive ocean views. The cabin accommodates up to seven passengers.
þTwo Bedroom Suite: This 945-square foot suite also has a private veranda, two bedrooms, and two-and-a-half bathrooms. The whirlpool tubs and wet bar are favorite amenities, and the cabin accommodates up to seven passengers.
þOne Bedroom Suite: This 614-square foot suite has two bathrooms and can accommodate up to five passengers. Walk in closets, a wet bar, and a private veranda are all included.
In addition, all the concierge level suites include upgraded features such as higher-quality sheets, linens, pillows and duvets, as well as robes and slippers. A selection of board games, a personal DVD and CD library are also included, as well as daily treats like fresh fruit, cookies, and canapés.

Exclusive, Stress-Free Cruising

Concierge service on a Disney Cruise is a pampering, exclusive service offered only to the most elite staterooms on Disney's fleet of ships, and it can make a fantastic vacation even more memorable. Some travelers may be intimidated by the extra cost, but you do get what you pay for, and there are a lot of great deals and freebies to take advantage of. As the self-confessed skin flint said in his review, "In the end, we calculated that we only spent a couple hundred dollars more than if we had booked one of the cheaper rooms. Once we took into account that the room that was nearly twice the size and included a veranda and all the extra services that cannot be valued with a dollar amount, the trip was well worth the extra expense."

Thank you! It is difficult having never taken a cruise to determine the added benefits.

Just a warning. I was in your shoes and cruised Disney concierge on the Dream as my families first cruise. It was wonderful and my family is now sadly spoiled. Just be careful because all other cruises will be compared to this first.

What is 'Disney's Elite Concierge' and what does it include that regular concierge doesn't?

Just adding that though it says concierge can book starting at 120 days, it has recently started to offer contacting shoreside concierge at 150 days if PIF to submit your requests and reserve things that are confirmed at 120 days.

What is 'Disney's Elite Concierge' and what does it include that regular concierge doesn't?

"Elite" is just describing the service. Not a different class of service. The only differences inside concierge can be seen within the room categories as they are different in room dining options depending on the room booked in the newer boats. The family veranda has the same in room dining as the other rooms on the ship where as the one bedroom has the ability to order from the MDRs because it has a dining table and the royal suite has the ability to order from Palo. Aside from that all rooms receive the same amazing concierge service.

I've done Concierge two ways; a few comments about both:

1. Paid upgrade at check-in (on a back-2-back, Magic, 2010, one bedroom)
- When you ordered DVD, they also brought you packaged popcorn
- Suite was stocked with canned soda
- iPods with destination info, Disney entertainment

2. Booked it straight out (3-night Dream, 10th Disney cruise)
- Ate breakfast and lunch in the lounge every day - only meal I ate in MDR was dinner
- I didn't want to leave the Concierge area; it was so peaceful
- Received pre-cruise phone call at home to determine any needs (shore excursions, etc.)

Disney rooms are so nice that I wouldn't recommend normal people booking the Dream/Fantasy concierge (especially due to price difference). It really is hard to go back to normal after a little luxury.

We just got off the Wonder in concierge class today and wow, I was blown away by how awesome it was. Even though the classic ships don't have the lounge, I still thought it was worth the cost. Actually we just really wanted the suite and got the concierge whether we wanted it or not, but since we had it we thought we'd make the most out of it.

Our party was me, dh, ds (age 4) and dd (age 2). Among other things, we used the concierge for:

-shoreside, determining the best night of our 5 night cruise to go to Palo (we didn't want to miss semi-formal or pirate night in the MDRs), then making that reservation including nursery time.
-In-suite full breakfast. Eggs Benedict right in my own room? Don't mind if I do!
-Last-minute nursery reservations, we called the nursery directly one night and they had no room for 10-12 the next morning. An hour later we called our concierge and it was all arranged for us, no problem. Another time we decided at the last minute to eat alone in the MDR. Our dinner seating was 8:15 and at 7:00 we called concierge to see if they could fit dd in just an hour later--again, no problem.
-Sodas and Evian in-suite at no charge. We don't drink much soda, but getting the free bottles of water was definitely a nice perk.
-We had a problem at Shutters getting the border changed on a picture we liked. The crew member at Shutters seemed to be confused, then told us he couldn't remove the border and swap it out with a different one (which of course he could). We got frustrated, then paid for no border at all. Later we called the concierge and he talked to the Shutters manager and within a few minutes not only had the border we wanted, but he delivered it directly to our room.
-Free snacks--yay!
-Arranged a massage when the spa was "full" and I decided last minute to get one.
-First on, first off, first to get luggage, awesome.
-Several other things that aren't coming to mind

We also found them to be very thoughtful. One night ds wanted a bowl of vanilla ice cream with Mickey sprinkles. I know I could have called room service directly with this request, but called the concierge instead and we had our ice cream with plenty of Mickey sprinkles, plus two spoons because our concierge thought that dd might want to share too--something we didn't even think about.

In short, it was just plain nice to have someone take care of any details we wanted. But I agree with other posters, it's going to be hard to cruise without a concierge now! It's going to take us a few years to save up again to splurge like that, but I can't see myself cruising any other way from now on.:)

Would you mind sharing which concierge hosts are on the Wonder right now?

Thanks for that, where can I get more information on the 150 days policy

Hi all!!

Can someone please tell me...are the Palo and Remy fees waived for concierge guests when you order those in room??

I've read you can order off those two menus and dine in suite, but was wondering if it additional.

Also. Someone mentioned ordering movies and received popcorn/snacks. Is there a listing of movies they have on board that I could access now or is that something I would just ask the attendant during our stay??

Trying to be prepared.

Thanks so much!!!!!!

You can only order Palo in the room if you are in the Royal Suites. When we did it on the Wonder earlier this year, there was not a charge as we were told it was included as a perk of the room.

The Wonder doesn't have Remy but I have not heard of being served Remy in the suite before.

While on Dream and Fantasy you can order Palo in the Royal Suites, on Magic and Wonder you can order Palo in the 2 bedroom and the Roy and Walt suites.

I was looking at the Royal on the Dream and it no longer says you can order in from Palo and Remy, only says
  • In-suite dining from any of our rotation restaurants
Does anyone know if they changed it?
