Concierge traveling with non-concierge recent experiences?

Hi, my friend might be booking her DH, DD, and herself on our same cruise. I'm so excited that they might join us, but they will probably be non-concierge. I don't expect to be able to get them in with us at the same PAT or to bring them into the concierge lounge/deck, and I don't think they will mind this.

Wondering if anyone has had recent experience with shoreside concierge and whether they might be able to include our friends when making our bookings for the following:

Regular MDR: getting us at the same table if our reservations are linked
Palo Brunch/Dinner: We would need a table for 4 instead of 2
Character breakfast for both families at the same time
Nursery: Could we book her daughter in with our son
Spa: Could I book she and I to have girls spa time together
Excursion: We are doing mostly non-DCL excursions but I would like to book them with us on one excursion.

I'm not trying to stir up controversy or upset anyone, just wondering what people's recent experiences have been. We will be on the Wonder. Thanks!

I don't know, but I don't think they can book her at the same time as you.

They might be able to help move hers if she's not able to book at the same time once she is able to book. But their services (like the concierge lounge, the happy hour, etc.) are supposed to be for concierge guests only.

You shouldn’t have a problem with being seated at the same MDR table. We were able to do that with some non-concierge friends a few years ago. I have no experience with the other questions.

Always ask, we have been concierge many times, sometimes it depends on the concierge staff, some say no, your list seems reasonable, I think the Spa as not involving concierge at all will be a no, the others I think they would try, but it's down to who actually answers.

While I understand you wanting to get everything together, it is not fair to the other concierge guests to request these things for your non-concierge friends. Concierge services are for those staying in concierge, guest services is available for those who are not.

I think because you can book people via linked staterooms for some stuff, things like the character breakfast and excursion will be fine.

But they shouldn't allow you to book someone else's kid to the nursery.

☆☆Please note that we are able to take requests and book activities for the concierge stateroom and up to (4) linked non-concierge staterooms for all "shared" activities **

The above quote is from the email we got from shoreside before our booking date. As long as you are linked and doing an activity together sounds like it's ok.

The things you do together I think they would do, e.g. the Palo and character breakfast table sizes need to include them, so it makes sense. The things that book separately, nursery and excursions, they probably wouldn’t. But it doesn’t hurt to ask!

That's good confirmation on the policy.

Thank you! And everyone else who gave input too. So it looks like meals and excursions are a go, and spa and nursery we will hope to get lucky and there still be slots when my friend wants them.

Hi we are traveling concierge with 2 family members in a non concierge room. Our reservations are linked. I was able to book excursions, tastings, cabana and meals for our entire group through shoreside services when my window opened. I think the important thing is to make sure your reservations are linked. Hope this helps.

I can see that as a general thing. But does it really impact other concierge passengers for the concierge to book two people to an activity rather than one? When there isn't an overall limit in the number of people who can end up participating.

Since it is the concierge passengers who pay for this service, yes, these requests impact every other concierge guest.

It also impacts other people on the cruise - platinum, gold, or silver members might be able to book before this family and might get shut out of something they want just because they don't have friends sailing concierge. It doesn't seem right, but that's just the way I see things.

It does impact other people. There is a limit to the amount of people in a Tasting and Excursion. Here is a scenario where it does make a difference,if they are silver status and a tasting/excursion is full b/f a platinum or gold member can book they technically take a spot the non-concierge should not have. The non-concierge should have to try for the times just like the rest of us that are not tagged to concierge room

Agree with both of you.

It also sets up the potential for false expectations. I could see someone wanting the non-Concierge group to get admitted to the lounge or the special character greeting and saying "Well, I got to book these things for them as if they were. Why does that change on the ship?"

I did specify things that don't have a limited number of spots.

People who try that are just plain dishonest instead of confused.
