Do all the concierge serve the same things? What are the perks of staying concierge? What can I expect/

My first concierge stay is still more than a week away, but I think I can answer.

Each concierge serves stuff from its restaruants. So AKL Concierge has stuff from Jiko and Boma, the Poly has stuff from their eateries, et, etc.

Sometimes you get a robe, sometimes slippers, sometimes a newspaper, you get special concierge pre-planning, sometimes you can get a hard o gt resevation, and you get snacks and bottled water and access to the concierge lounge.

We just returned from concierge at the GF main bldg (RPC). As far as amenities they weren't anything worth the extra cost. The main reason I'd do concierge again at GF-RPC is for the room and the location in the main building. We had an incredible view of the castle and the lagoon. We loved the easy access to the monorail and the theming and ambiance of the GF was truly magical! I was so relaxed just sitting in the concierge lounge looking out over the main lobby!

The lounge did have snacks available most of the day. In the morning it would be breakfast food (dry cereals, yogurt, bagels, danish). THe rest of the day it would be things like scones and tea or finger sandwiches and cold salads and cheese and crackers. In the evening they had desserts and wine set out. There were no sodas or bottled water that you could take with you to the parks.

The rooms had turn down service in the evening, robes in the closet and slippers.

The first thing that I mention to people when they are interested in concierge is are they going to be able to take advantage of all the amenities. The first service is help with priorty seating and other reservations. I've heard many who like to do that planning on their own. If you go through concierge, you are most likely going to get those hard to find ps's (like CRT) and you will be listed on the reservation as a VIP. Next is the food service. While you can save money simply by having breakfast each day in the concierge lounge, some of them do have offerings until 10pm and include wine and cordials. Not enough to call a meal, but definitely some great filler food. And it's been my experience that even though they don't display it, all you need to do is ask a staff member for bottled water or soda. Some folks attest to being the park commando type. If you haven't built some time for R&R at the resort, then concierge is probably not going to be worth it for you. At the GF, the standard room set-up is the same and the views are terrific but you can get similar in other buildings. The convenience of being in the main building for concierge is that you are only a floor or two away from the monorail and the lounge overlooks the main lobby. This is especially nice in the evenings when they have the piano and orchestra playing. You will receive bathrobes, slippers and a refrigerator at no cost upon request. The concierge had a tape library of Disney movies for the VCR in your room. You get a phone call each evening from the concierge staff announcing the operating hours, weather and anything special going on the next day. The concierge staff is available each day for any last minute requests. I think concierge is more of a higher level of service (or at least should be). From what I've seen and heard, all the resorts are very different in what they offer and both the Contemp and GF offer two levels of concierge service. Enjoy your planning though, I think it's half the fun. ;)
