Hi everyone
I just found out today that I passed my boards and I am an RN, wooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooo :cool1: :cool1:
My husband has been extremely supportive and when we go in Oct. I want to surprise him with staying at US, but I have a few questions.

Is concierge worth an extra $100 anight? we have 2 kids, 7 and 4. We would be checking in on Fri Oct 13-Sun Oct 15.

How close are the parks to the hotel? We visit Disney often and sometimes it can take 45 min to get back to our resort, would we be able to make a quick return to the hotel to take advantage of concierge?

Dh really likes the Poly at disney and I see RPH is a Polynesian themes

any advice would be GREAT

I don't think that the Club Level is worth $100 a night but others may. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to RPR from the parks. We are staying the same weekend leaving Monday. Your kids are little so ya'll won't be going to HHN?

Thanks Motherfletcher!
We are checking into the Beach club on Sunday, so we will be do the Mickey's not so scarey halloween party. The one at US is too scarey for ME and the kids :teeth:

I have never stayed club--mainly because I did not think it would be worth it. I do not wish to plan my day around getting back to the club for the evening beverages and goodies. So, it would just be breakfast. As I understand it, the club level is more or less a continental breakfast. Even with unlimited soda and water during the day, I cannot see that the $100 would be worth it.

You could walk from RPR to IOA in about 10-15 minutes depending upon how fast your crew is. US about another 5 minutes. If you include waiting times for the boat, it would probably be about the same.

We are going in December-I wouldn't pay $100 extra just for Club-we always take our own snacks and drinks-I would rather spend my money on something else. Congrats on passing your boards and have fun in October!!!!!

For my family of 4 grown-ups, it was definitely worth it. I absolutely have to eat breakfast and having food down the hall made it easy to get food to take back to my room for all of us to eat while we got ready. Then we didn't have to stop until 11:00 for lunch. We always went back to the room in the late afternoon and those of us that couldn't wait until dinner had a snack. Then back to the park for dinner and fun. We used the evening food as dessert/late night snack. So I guess it depends on when you want to eat, whether you are willing to bring your own food, how often you are back at the hotel and whether you have someone who normally eats between meals (and is still skinny as a rail). For us it absolutely was worth it. I figured $36 daily for breakfast at the parks, 2 bottled waters per person per day ($20), sodas ($8), dessert/snacks ($20), etc. or about $85/day that we saved in food costs. But like the Mastercard commercial, some things are priceless and for me that was convenience--not stopping at a grocery store on the way from the airport, not buying a cooler & keeping it stocked with food and ice, being able to have a wide selection of foods that I didn't have to prepare or clean up after; being able to go to lounge to use the computer, watch TV, have a glass of wine or read their good selection of magazines. We didn't take advantage of any of the discounts that come with club level, like the cabanas.

Hey Denny!
I completely understand your point with 4 grown ups and the fact that you fly. We are in SC so we drive down part of the way and spend the night before driving the rest of the way the next day. With little ones we just take our time!

I stayed conceirge at the Polynesian. I think it was worth it. With my upcoming trip, I asked myself the same question...Is it worth the extra money??? Yes, I think it is, so I went ahead and did it!!! I can get my coffee early in the AM, we could all grab breakfast and head right to the park with no wasting time going out to a restaurant for breakfast. Another big perk for us is the water bottles. We will easily have 3-4 each per day. I think they charge $2.50 per bottle so, just the cost of water could be up to $ 30 - $40 per day (we don't drink much soda). Then if we have just one drink each in the evening that would be worth about $10. Add snacks throughtout the day, desserts at night...I think it's worth it! Don't forget about the convenience!

Definately worth it. The breakfast is continental as far as muffins, danish, bagels, etc. There is also cold cereal for the little ones, fresh fruit and yogurt. It's a very nice spread and starts nice and early and continues until, I believe 10:30. Nice way to start the day and get to the parks early. Water and soft drinks available all day/night long until closing which is at 10:00 if I'm remembering correctly - we were just there in May. In the afternoon they supply light snacks - fruit, cookies, potato chips. Between 5-7pm there are usually one hot and one cold finger food/hordouvre (sp??) type of offering, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit and unlimited wine and beer for the adults. My husband and I, along with our two daughters really enjoyed this. It was a nice opportunity to relax after a day at the parks and talk about out day and our plans for the next day. Later in the evening desserts are out if you can possibly eat one more thing. The desserts are truly decadent and we just loved being pampered so much on vacation. The staff is always helpful with anything you might need or want. I think, for a truly special occasion such as yours, that this would really be a nice addition. Congratulations and enjoy your vacation!

First congrats!!! Addressing your question, it depends if you will be in the parks alot then no its not worth it. Our boys are teenagers and can come and go as they please so my dh and I can spend extra time at the resort with our DD 1. The offerings are nice but not fabulous.
