I haven't read much lately about anyone in CAT 1-3 and was wondering if anyone traveling lately can tell me who the concierge staff on the Magic is and how the service was. Also what was included as extras--it seems to change from time to time. Can you request a specific waiter or head server? thanks for any help. Beth

Beth,

We were in a Cat 3 on the March 15th cruise and the concierge team was Miska & Simarea. We thought the service was excellent and we had a really great time.

Some of the things I remember getting are: a plate of chocolate chip cookies, a plate of small desserts(almost like candy), a bowl of fruit, a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, and there was also soda and water in the cabin when we got there. During the week they stopped by every night to see if everything was okay. My DD had a birthday while on board and they brought her a card signed by Mickey. They also brought a coloring book and crayons for her one night and a couple of acarde cards for the older one.

We did not request a specific wait staff but I am sure you probably could. We did request a specific dinning rotation and a table in the middle of the room through the concierge staff before the crusie. (Of course you get told the standard that it can be requested but is not guaranteed.) When we got on board we did get the dinning rotation we requested but our table was back in the back by a wall. So, we asked if we could possibly be moved to a different table and they moved us. We had Christophe as our head server, Ronald as our waiter, and Livvu as our asst. server. They were all wonderful. We had a great time and will never cruise again without being in a Cat 1, 2, or 3.

Thanks for the reply--I remember Miska from our previous cruise, but she wasn't with the concierge team. did they allow concierge guests to board first? we usually try to get there early to stand in line, but I know my son would rather sleep in.

Beth,

Yes, they let you board first. When you get to the terminal look for the concierge check-in desk. It is at the far end near the mouse ears. They will tell you after you check in to relax and sit on the sofas next to the mouse ears and when they call for the handicap people to board you can also board at that time. You will have a different colored KTTW card than everyone else so they will know you are concierge. Except for the 3 handicap families in front of us, we were the first to board. When we cruised in March we started boarding around 12 or 12:15, so even though your DS wants to sleep in make sure you are there no later than 11:00 if you want to board first.
