Hey so I just booked for a trip in Nov/Dec :yay:

Staying in a Standard view room, Concierge level.
Now I've been recently had to cut out gluten from my diet and was wondering if concierge will have anything available for me to eat a breakfast (other times doesn't bother me). I really don't want to go buy food for breakfast separately from the rest of the family and ordering groceries seems like a nightmare since being from Australia I don't know brands.

Second, does booking concierge level standard view definitely mean I'll be getting a pool level (cabana) room? The extra space of a porch would be nice being 4 adults in the room.

I definitely recall fruit and hard boiled eggs and I think cheese sticks but it seems like it was quite frequent that concierge was not open when we wanted to leave for the parks. It doesn't garuntee you will get a cabana level room. We have only gotten one once out of three times we have booked standard concierge. One other time we got "upgraded" to a view room but I really do prefer the patio room. The rooms are decent sized. They have been fine for us with 2 adults and a child in a wheel chair and a stinky 10 year old boy. I have stayed at all three hotels in numerous different rooms types and the cabana rooms with concierge at PPH are by far my favorite. It always surprises me when people dis the PPH.

As Nevada Jen pointed out, there will be plenty of gluten free options. And if you find the choices too limited, just ask and (in my experience) they will go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. The concierge staff at the PPH are the friendliest and most helpful of all three lounges!

Nevada Jen is also right that "standard view concierge" does not mean cabana room; it could also mean a room on one of the top few floors facing away from the parks. Good luck getting a cabana room, though--they are awesome!

It doesn't. You could request it.

I called and was going to request it then said i'd leave it to chance.

And they upgraded us to a gigantic suite.

As for breakfast...it's not like it's a full breakfast at all. Pastries and bagels are about it in terms of the things you won't be able to have. From what I recall.

When I have gone, they usually have a variety of fruit, a meat and cheese platter, hard boiled eggs, danishes, cereals, oatmeal packages, toast, bagels, and other options.

Okay thanks very much!

I'll have to decide if I request it since I have heard from a few people about them being upgraded a PPH including my own family. Id be happy with a standard room just prefer a cabana room is all.

We're all basically Vegemite on toast people in the morning so not after anything special, so we thought it would work for us. I was just worried when I saw only photos of pasties and bagels that I wouldn't have anything to eat. I once spent previous trip eating only boiled eggs on toast in good neighbor hotel before because everything else was sweet :thumbsup2

I'll be happy to eat an egg and meat, and maybe some fruit.

Do mention your gluten allergy to the CMs. Our last trip GCH CL had a menu with various allergy alternative foods so our gluten and dairy allergy family member was able to get items from for whatever time of day they were serving, breakfast, appetizers, dessert. I was very impressed, it's a drastic improvement from previous years. It always took extra time so be aware of that. As I said this was our experience at GCH CL but I know Disney has been mainstreaming how they handle food allergies so I would not hesitate to inquire with PPH CL.

(Or anywhere onsite for that matter. AND if you get a CM who seems uncertain about the allergy information they are giving you or you don't trust what they are saying just ask to consult with the chef, whether at a TS or CS.)

FWIW there has been a lot of hullabaloo about Disney stopping the "just because" upgrades in the last couple weeks. Whether it's true who knows, but I would go ahead and request the room you want within your booking category.

Hi!! I am booked for standard room PPH Concierge in August. The CM who booked my room told me about the cabana rooms and put the request in for me at the time of booking. He told me it was subject to availability so I have my fingers crossed. I would definitely add the request to your reservation. It doesn't hurt to put it out to the universe (and Disney!) early.

We stayed in a concierge room at PPH in December of 2014. Since then, my mom and I have both gone completely off gluten and for that reason, when we booked our trip for this coming fall, we decided not to get concierge again because we would not be able to eat a large majority of the food they serve. Breakfast is mostly breads, danishes, muffins, cereal, bagels, etc. You can request yogurt but its not out. If you ask for anything else you will be charged for it. Fruit would be the only breakfast option. Snacks are Chex mix, trail mix, chips, cookies and uncrustables sandwiches. Not much gluten free options there either. The evening offerings are a hot appetizer, chips and salsa, a huge veggie tray with ranch, cheeses and breads and crackers. More options here, but none of the desserts were gluten free. it we could not justify paying that much more to have fruit, chips, cheese, and veggies and drinks.

I have requested almond milk for my sister and other special requests when we have gone to the CL, and have never been charged. How much were you charged? I usually grab a couple boiled eggs, some ham (there is usually turkey too) and a couple slices of cheese, in addition to fruit for breakfast. I don't usually like the sweets for breakfast myself.

We only asked for yogurt since it was not out, and were not charged. There was no meat or cheese available at the PPH for breakfast. There were hard boiled eggs. The other CL lounges have different things, PPH has the least amount of options. The last day we were there a woman was settling her account with the CM in the lounge because she ordered scrambled eggs every day and was complaining about being charged for them.
