Concierge question - 125 day requests?

My 125 day window for submitting concierge requests is opening soon. In the e-mail I received, it provides an e-mail address and a telephone number to submit your requests to. It also states that the "booking window" for requests opens at midnight, but the concierge office doesn't open until 8:30AM, and that requests will be booked in the order that they're received. So, does that mean an e-mail that is sent at 12:01AM will get priority over a phone call at 8:30AM? Trying to decide if I should e-mail or call my requests in when my 125 day window opens. I don't want to have to send that midnight e-mail if I don't have to. :-)

Thanks!

Yes, I believe the midnight e-mail would get priority over an 8:30 phone call.

That's what I suspected, PrincessShmoo. Was trying to avoid being up until midnight, but it might be a sacrifice I'll have to make in the name of DCL (not that this is a bad thing!).

I was thinking about this too. Is that midnight EST?

And, you can't be logged into your reservation before midnight and just click "refresh". You must actually log in after midnight.
But for the 125 day concierge window, shoreside still has to do the reserving. Passengers can't do anything online until 120 days.

OP - do you use gmail? If so, I highly recommend downloading the boomerang add on. That way you can write your email and schedule it to deliver at 12:01 while you are sleeping peacefully. That's what we've done the last two times and it worked great.

I agree with all of this. :)

What I've done is put the email in draft, wake up before midnight, hit send at 12:01 and go back to sleep. I've done that with my computer and last year with the cell phone by my bed.

At what point do you receive the email with the concierge email address? This is our first time cruising and I'm trying to make sure I don't miss anything. We are 133 days out and paid in full. Should I get an email with that contact information before the 125 day mark? Thanks!

It's been awhile so it might have changed, but the email for shoreside was in my booking confirmation email.

We booked with TA. I did not get a booking confirmation email from DCL, just one from the TA. Should I have also gotten one from DCL? We are booked concierge. Will concierge services make any contact with me prior to 125 or am I just supposed to send an email? Thanks!!

On our last concierge cruise, shoreside contacted our TA. Perhaps contact that person to double check. Or just schedule the email to shoreside regardless of whether you get the welcome email.

How do you word the email? Every time I try to write it, I feel like I'm demanding something & I don't want to come off like that. I know we want to try for a cabana, and my son would enjoy meeting as many characters as possible. Aside from the cabana, excursion, and M&G requests, is there anything else I should try for? This is our first cruise, so I am not 100% sure what falls into the "must request early" category. Thanks!

I always say something like, "we are so excited for our upcoming cruise on the Dream in concierge and would like to request the following:"

And then list out the requests that we would like. They always send a confirmation email back once the cabana is reserved with the cabana number.

We did not receive a confirmation email about the booked cabana, but when I checked the website that morning all requests had been made :)

In our first email I also thanked them for all their future help and listed what activities we wanted and included which passengers would participate in what, room fridge soda preferences, our first choice for cabana and asked about any alcohol tastings times. They responded the next day to give me times for all the activities we wanted to sign up for. I was very stressed out over this as my family designated me the planner and it's our first DCL cruise but it was a very easy process.

Where are you that is 2 hours east of EDT?

Sorry. It was supposed to say 12am. I hate typing on the AdBlocker browser on my phone because the field where I type often disappears. But I hate the redirection that was happening more and more frequently on Safari.
