I have a question about staying concierge level at Disneyland. I have stayed on the concierge level several times at WDW and usually in less than a week after I book I am contacted by the itinerary planning office and they help me make PS etc. I havent been contacted yet - do Disneyland resorts have the same thing?

No, they don't do that. They do have a desk in the lounge where they will assist you, but they don't call you ahead of time.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I had better go ahead and make my reservations myself!:) Guess I just got use to being lazy....:rotfl:

we went ot WDW last july and stayed at the Poly concierge! it was amazing. at new years we stayed at the PP concierge! It is a huge difference. less food, less hospitality. less everything. be warned. They credited back our Concierge price to us for the 5 days! A quick $680 back. be warned!!!!

We enjoyed our concierge stay at PPH last month (3rd time). The CM's were extremely helpful with everything and we enjoyed the food (exception, the shrimp was greasy). Expecting deluxe concierge at a moderate hotel is unrealistic.

I agree with this! We've always enjoyed the concierge at PP. The staff in the lounge have always been fantastic to us.

At Disneyland hotels, every guest has access to what a normal hotel would call a concierge. At Disneyland they are Vacation Planners. Call the hotel, ask for them, tell them what you would like. They'll take care of it.

What kinds of things can you ask for, within reason? I've seen people say they've requested all sorts of "special" things like autographed pictures and whatnot to those mickey rice crispy treats. Do you pay normal park prices, or do they jack up the price because they are doing it as a special request? I figure if I am going to spend as much as I'm spending on this trip, I might as well get everything I can out of it, lol.

Well, the autographed pictures, anyone can make a request for those.

I think that with concierge you will get the rice crispy marshmallow things (yet another reason I haven't done concierge b/c I hate to make a special request on a treat, but we don't eat marshmallow, lol) anyway.

But there's a whole list of baskets and such that you can order from VP, and I believe they can coordinate special things (like cookies and milk for outrageous prices, ha ha) from room service, too. If you call them (goes digging in gmail for phone number) they'll email you a list of things you can order...

When we checked in, not using concierge mind you (package deal through Costco), they asked "are you celebrating anything during your stay?" We said we were celebrating our anniversary, and she went back and after a bit too long came out with anniversary pins and balloons. One green, one blue for DS, and about 4 each pink and red for me and DH. If we had let them know ahead of time, we probably wouldn't have had to wait.

Here's one of the things VP sent me about room service things (September prices): Mickey Crunchie Treats - Two Mickey's Rice Krispy Treats dipped in chocolate, served with a Chilled Bottle of Milk Price: $18.00

But if you're staying concierge, again, I think you get those Krispy things anyway. :upsidedow

I have used vacation planning for my last 4 trips. Brad is great! He makes all my priority seatings for restaurants, sets up our Limo transportation from ant to the airport, and arranges all the extras that I want for the room (granted there's a cost for them). We have quit staying conceirge level at Disneyland since we never seemed to be at the hotel only to sleep and i just order little extras for the room each night and still save money and still have the conceirge feeling just not the lounge. When we arrive I always have an itenirary with all our reservations and some signed autographs waiting for us at check in. My kids and I are very excited to meet Brad for the 1st time this trip. My daughter is his #1 fan since he was able to score us balcony dessert seats for her decade birthday and made that trip have so many memories. It is so fun looking through the scrapbooks and seeing the kids light up with the extra pixie dust that he has provided us!:worship:
