Does anybody have info comparing YC and Poly concierge?
They're both about the same $ for our stay. I know the poly
is easier transportation wise, but is it worth staying at the YC because better services, quality of resort, etc? There's nothing like staying on the monorail though.

We have stayed at both. As a matter of fact, we were moved from the Polynesian to the YC upon request because we were unhappy with the room at Polynesian. In my opinion (and please don't flame me for this!), the Polynesian is too old and run down to be considered a deluxe resort. We had one of the infamous stinky rooms in Hawaii. We put up with it for one night but couldn't stand it more than that. We asked to be moved after we returned to our room to find the carpet freshly shampooed (and thoroughly soaked!) with no hope of drying any time soon. We found YC to be clean and refreshing. The concierge was wonderful and the room was stink-free. We also preferred the location and pool to the Polynesian. The monorail is nice, but we also enjoyed the short walk (or boat ride) to Epcot and the Boardwalk.

We had just the opposite experience. Yes, the YC room was just renovated, but frankly the smell of fresh paint and carpet glue was a bit much for me. The Poly room had no smell, and it was much lighter and airier than I expected it to be. Also, we had a water view at the Poly, it was WONDERFUL, a waterful at the YC wasn't worth the extra money. The Poly rooms are also much larger, and have a mini-fridge in them. The Poly concierge seemed to want to bend over backwards, the YC just didn't seem to care. As my DH says "I just didn't feel welcomed there". The Poly room was larger, and we felt more comfortable. Although SAB is nice, the Volcano pool at the Poly is as well, and it was neat having it right next to the beach and SO close to the room.

We much preferred the Poly lounge, which had better food and a more relaxed feeling, I was afraid to sit on the very formal furnighings at the YC...although had I been on a business trip I would have liked it more. Also the Poly lounge has bottled water, and they encourage you to take a bottle with you to the parks.

Also three other YC problems. I picked up a pair of DH's shorts off the top of my suitcase, and there was a large cockroach staring at me. The other was that the power went off while I was in the shower, in a strange shower, dark bathroom, it was very frightening. I had to call twice to get the bathrobes that should have been hanging in my closet when I checked in to the room.

Only Poly problem we had was spotty turndown service, and a rude housekeeping person at 11:00pm one night when we requested clean towels (should have beengiven with turndown which we didn't get).
