Hi! I have a family of 5(myself, DH, 11,9, and 8), and we are going for a week at the end of January! We're so happy to be going back to this magical place.

Currently, we have booked 2 standard rooms at the AKL or1 concierge room at AKL that holds 5. We've booked both with AP rates. So, it's a price difference of about $250 more for concierge(although 1 room).

I'm concerned about space. Would you do 1 room concierge or 2 standard rooms? Or, shoud I stay somewhere else in one room...poly or GF? or concierge poly or GF!

OR should I stay at a moderate with 2 rooms or PC with 2 rooms too? Ugh!

HELP!!! I'm so confused, and terrified of making wrong choice. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Okay take a deep breath and relax:D Are you thinking clearly and breathing now?;) Good. Let's take this one question at a time.

First why do you want to stay concierge? Do you think that you are going to be spending a lot of time at the resort? Do you think that you are going to be able to save on meals?

If you answer both on these then to me a savanna view room at the AKL is the best place to sit back and relax watching the animals go by. Also, relaxing in the lounge with afternoon tea and a cup of cappiciano(sp?) reading a paper is great. We do not view concierge as a way to say on meals as the only meal that we do not buy because we are staying concierge is breakfast is that usually only ran us $12 a day anyway. We still do our sit down CB at 1900 Park Fare so in my view people should not stay concierge for the sole purpose of savings on meals. Concierge service is not ment to be meal replacement.

What parks do your children like the most? Poly concierge would give you more room as the rooms are bigger then the AKL concierge rooms. The Poly is closer to the MK and has the monorail or water ferry for transportation.

We have never stayed Poly Concierge but from what I read on these boards the opinion tends to be that the Poly Concierge is the most kid friendly concierge in Disney World.

There were plenty of kids when we stayed at the AKL Concierge Feb 2003.

So I am not sure if I answered your questions yet but here is my opinion.

I would go with Poly Concierge if I was in your shoes due to the Poly having larger rooms, being closer to the MK and the perception of its concierge services being more kid/family friendly.

I would move to the Poly. The rooms there are so much bigger. We were there for nine days and I remember the room being as spacious a hotel room as I have ever had. The two queens plus the day bed would be ok for a family of five, I think. I would also take a room with a balcony. Gives Mom and Dad room to sit quietly in the evening and talk.

Or

I would take 2 connecting rooms at one of the moderates. This is our plan for our February trip. We love the moderates! 2 televisions, two bathrooms, more potential for good quality down-time.

Regarding concierge. I don't know. No matter how I slice it, concierge just does not seem cost effective to me for family travel. I would use it on a business trip where I am so busy I need to find food fast or if I was not at all concerned with money. But I am (and always will be).

two queen beds and a twin day bed. You do not need to do concierge to have that type of room. Two standard connecting rooms will have the bunks beds and one queen or two queen beds. A savannah room is the best view and you will love ALK no matter what room you have.

:D
