Concierge Lounge Hours

Is there a list anywhere of what the hours are for the concierge lounges at the Magic Kingdom resorts? It is something that we are considering for our next trip. Also what lounges are on the same floor as the rooms? It appears from what I have been able to figure out the WL and CR lounges are on the same floor as all the concierge rooms and the GF and Poly the rooms are on several floors.

The big attraction for us is the breakfast stuff in the morning and the use of the lounge in the evening when we are getting the kids too bed. We tend to get going early and it will before the parks open when we are looking to go. Having a place to hang out in the morning as the family wakes up is a plus and the evening wine after a day at the parks is a nice perk.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It depends on where you stay. Each resort has his own personality. Generally, I've found the lounge is always open, but staffed from around 7am - 10pm.

CR has 2 concierge floors, 14th & 12th. Each has a seperate lounge on it's floor. AKL's lounge is on the 6th floor. The rooms are now on the 4th floor. It was a bit of a hike from our room to the lounge.

I haven't stayed at the Poly. But I believe Club level is one building, rather than a floor.

I don't know about everyone else but I like to be on the floor where the lounge is. Most hotel are doing this where you can be on another floor with concierge, it was that way for me at the Hilton in CA when I went to universal studios. I now have to add on to my reservation because of my MS and my walking ability I need to be near the lounge. :thumbsup2

Kimberle's right about the hours although the ones we've stayed at open for coffee/tea at 6:30. We've stayed Polynesian, Royal Palm Club and Sugar Loaf at the GF and AK club levels.

We've enjoyed club level at the Polynesian where an entire longhouse is club level. The concierge desks are on the first floor and the lounge spans the second and third with food and drinks on second.

Sugar Loaf at the GF is also a separate building. There both desks and lounge are on the first floor. The main building at the GF houses Royal Palm Club rooms which are on three floors. Desks are on 3rd and service on 4th if I remember correctly.

At AKL, there are villas on the concierge floor (or will be soon as those open Dec. 1 supposedly) and regular rooms are on the 4th. Lounge and desks are 6th.

Although we've not stayed club level at the Y&BC, the last I read those lounges close between service hours.

Have fun deciding.

Oh, there is a sticky FAQ about concierge: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=679928

We've only stayed concierge once, at the Polynesian.

Because of our atypical schedule, staying up to 2 a.m., getting up at 11 a.m., coming back late at night, we never once found any food out in the lounge. Bad timing on our part! Oh well, we got a bottle of water a few times and once I found a stray can of soda.

We always seemed to run into cleaning crews who looked at us like "why are you coming in here now?"

I think all lounges are the same when it comes to the hours the Cast Members work (7:00 AM - 10:00 PM) and the times they serve coffee (6:30 AM - 10:00 PM), breakfast (7:00 AM - 10:30 AM), refreshments (11:30 AM - 4:00 PM), wine and cheese selections (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and finally the cordials and desserts (8:00 PM - 10:00 PM). At least that is the hours for the Atrium Club and Tower Club at the Contemporary, along with the King Kamehameha Club at the Polynesian.

No, not the hours for AKL. They also serve high tea in the afternoon.

That's true for the GF as well. They serve the light lunch snacks from 11am - 1:30pm and then Afternoon Tea from 2pm - 4pm.

I'll try to compile a detailed listing of the club levels. Also note, that some have lounges which do close for cleaning in between food offerings. Hope this helps with your decision.

YC - same floor for standard concierge rooms, lounge is closed in between food servings
BC - same floor for standard concierge rooms, lounge is closed in between food servings
WL - same floor for standard concierge rooms, lounge is closed in between food servings
CR Atrium Club - same floor (12th)
CR Tower Club - same floor (14th)
BWI - same floor for standard concierge rooms
AKL - lounge on the 6th floor, concierge rooms on the 4th
Poly - lounge on ground level floor of Hawaii building, rooms throughout
GF Royal Palm Club - lounge on the 4th floor, concierge rooms on floors 3, 4 & 5
GF Sugar Loaf - lounge on ground level of Sugar Loaf, rooms throughout

Tammi you can add the Atrium Club lounge which closes for cleaning after they serve breakfast.

Tammi, nice list.

There will also be concierge villas on the 6th floor of AKL starting next month.

We are staying concierge for one night at AKL. How long can we use the lounge the day we check out? Will we have access with our keys once we have ckecked out. We will be at the hotel till after 8:00 PM the day we check out. It would be nice to have somewhere to go if we get tired of the parks.

Thanks for the info CRFan. I didn't realize the new lounge wasn't completely open. Do they only close the doors after breakfast, or is that done throughout the day (cleaning in between food service and then doors shut at 10pm)?

BCV23, those new villas will be amazing, but I imagine that bookings will be pretty much exclusive to DVC members only.

pooh.kim, your keys will continue to work right up until midnight. After you check out, they will no longer open your room door, but you will still have access to the lounge and room charging (if applicable) until the very end of the day.

There are no doors to enter the Atrium Club lounge. During their cleaning time after breakfast the housekeepers put some pylon cones in front of the entrance while they are cleaning the floor, so guests can not walk threw. After 10:00 PM when the Cast Members have left for the evening anyone staying up there can go into the lounge if they want to. So the only time guests can not access the lounge is during the cleaning of it after breakfast.

I can from firsthand experience agree with all of this. Coffee service begins at 6:30, breakfast at 7:00.

YC/BC do close the lounge when they don't have offerings, I have no idea why, you lose the nice seating space as a result. Same with BWI IIR, although to be fair I haven't stayed there for 6-7 years, so things could have changed or my memory might be foggy.

. . . I think all lounges are the same when it comes to the hours the Cast Members work (7:00 AM - 10:00 PM) . . .

1) Just to be exact.
2) Concierge CM's are scheduled 6:30am-10:30pm, both Lobby and Club Floor.
3) They are on staggered start/stop schedules.
4) Two Club Floor CM's start at 6:30am to ready the breakfast at 7:00am.
5) Based upon resort size, 1-2 CM's start at 6:30am for Lobby Concierge.

NOTE: Whether at the Lobby Concierge or Club Floor, the CM's are classed as Concierge. They are interchangeable. However, Club Floor Concierge have a film strip to watch regarding food prep. Additionally, there is nothing the Club Floor Concierge can do that the Lobby Concierge cannot do - and vice versa. They both have the same power and ability.

When we were at the Poly they were gone right at 10PM, we had to go to the front desk in the main lobby at 10:20 to get a room service menu.

Maybe Rusty is referring to the lounge CM's. They would have to be there obviously at 6:30am to start coffee service and then probably stay until 10:30pm for clean up. The desk's are generally staffed from 7am until 10pm.

Possibly but as you were compiling a list of club level experiences, the villas on the 6th floor fit that category.

WDW does keep a portion of the DVC inventory. Exactly how that is determined I've not seen clearly explained. One would hope that owners have a first chance at the club level villas but who knows.:confused3

It seems clear to me that some club level CMs are on duty before 6:30 as the coffee is ready to go at that hour.

As for as CMs at the club level desks, the hours are always listed as 7am-10pm in our experience.

I do agree with Rusty that lobby concierge appear to have the same capabilities as club level concierge.
