On the Fantasty, Is the 1BR concierge suite really workable for family of 5 (2 adults + 3 teens)? The double pull out sofa sounds like it might be small / uncomfortable for 2 teens to share. Do you think we are better off with this or just getting 2 connecting non-concierge deluxe family verandah rooms? Thanks!

Personally I would opt for two family verandah cabins. If you have your heart set on Concierge then that is a different story.

If it is not too much of a stretch the 1 BR suite is a great space. We slept 4 very comfortably and had family visiting with regularly 6-7 in the room comfortably and at times up 9 or 10.

The sleeping space shouldn’t be too difficult, the pull out is a regular size couch pullout. The real key is if the teens are going to be sleeping in regularly. The space in the room is great but if you are planning on being in the room for extended periods of time and the Murphy bed and the couch bed can not get put up it will not feel as spacious.

Granted it shouldn’t impact the parents since you have your own bedroom area and can open the wall between the bedroom and the dining area and gain extra room and views to the veranda.

I would be more concerned about bath space. There are two baths in the 1 BR so getting ready could be problematic if every one is doing that at the same time. Granted the 1 BR gets the bathtub so 2 can be showering and one bathing all at the same time compared with two family staterooms there are only 2 showers. On the flip side, there are 2 sinks in the master and one in the hall bath where the 2 staterooms would get 4 total sinks 2 in each split bath area.

I'd be most worried about beds: queen, full, single. The couch is a double so 2 teens and 2 adults will have to share a bed. Is that going to work?

Thanks -- I agree that is the key question. Adults are no issue, we will share the queen. Between the 3 teen girls, they will need to share the pull-out couch and the single. If the couch were queen size, then I'd be 100% confident. With the full size, it's dicey.

The couch bed is very comfortable for one person, but it’s only a double bed size. It might work, depends on the teen girls willingness to sleep very close together.

My teens find it difficult to share a bed. We always do two cabins and have not sailed concierge for this reason. On our last few cruises, we put the kids in an inside cabin just across the hall. We still have easy access to them and it saves a ton of money.

If not breaking the bank you could do a one-bedroom and the stateroom that connects. Then you could put the kids in the other room and have a lot of space and everyone doesn't have to share. It would be really expensive though. Otherwise I think two normal staterooms would be the way to go. A double is really small to share between two teenagers, when I was a teenager I hated sharing a bed.
