concierge dilemma

DH wants to stay near Epcot this trip and I was leaning towards BWI. Now we hear that YC concierge has beer and he told me hands down the decision is made. We stayed Poly concierge last time and enjoyed it and while we weren't necessarily planning on concierge this time the beer made his decision. Is the YC the only concierge with beer - we never asked at the Poly cause we'd been told they don't have it. Anyone know the real story - are they bringing beer back or only for YC???

Why don't you book at BWI and buy a cheapo styrofoam cooler and fill it with ice and beer? That way your DH will get his favorite kind at a fraction of the concierge cost. Just a thought .

That isn't a bad idea but he'd never do it. We'll have 5 in a room so we're a little crowded without a cooler and he would rather be pampered then have to stop at a store and buy the stuff - don't ask (I don't). Everyone has their things and when on vacation he doesn't want to deal with anything - even having to buy his beer in a grocery store. I think I've spoiled him.

Someone reported the other day that AKL concierge has beer now, but I know that you wanted to be at the Epcot resorts, plus the rooms are considerably larger at the BWI/YC/BC.

That said, the service at the BWI concierge is MUCH better than that at the YC IMHO. If it's pampering you want, we didn't get it at the YC. While they weren't rude to us, they also didn't "pamper" us.

My DH and DS told me flat out next time it's the Polynesian or the AKL, or they're staying home. Of course we'll see what happens when it's actually time to leave for the airport LOL! I'm sure if I offered BWI they'd be out the door with suitcases in hand in three minutes flat

At the YC concierge I felt that other than having some picked over food in an uncomfortable lounge (tables and chairs only, no sofa or easy chairs!) I might as well ahve been in a regular room for the service we "didn't" receive.

I just got back from YC Concierge. Neither me or my DH recall seeing beer out in the evening. You might want to stick with the coolers!

Just back from BCV with Concierge access and yes they do have beer. You have to go to the window and order it.

Concierge is all about pampering . The reason I suggested the cooler was because you had not been planning on doing Concierge. However, with 5 people in the room including a thirsty husband, it probably makes sense.

We just returned from a week at BC Concierge on sunday. They also serve beer. You have to ask for it as well as soda, juice boxes and bottled water. One of the things I really liked about BC was that the room had a dorm sized fridge that was stocked by Concierge before our arrival with sodas, water and juice boxes. The room also had a microwave which was wonderful for heating up our baby's bottles. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and accessible. They were great at getting last minute PS's for us (it rained quite a bit during the week and a few nights we did not want to venture far from the hotel)
