Concierge Collection Hotels have not signed 2007 contracts with DVC ???

I just tried booking for next year at the Hotel Del and was informed that they have not signed their 2007 contract with DVC and therefore DVC cannot book rooms there yet. Apparently this is true of other Concierge Collection Hotels too. Has anyone else run into this ? Does anyone know anything more about the problem ? Or when it might be resolved ?

Because Concierge Collection hotels are exchanges, each exchange is re-negotiated periodically. I seem to remember that it is every two years. The reality is that no one should buy ANY Timeshare for the exchanges alone, because those will often change across the industry. That is especially true when you are exchanging timeshares for regular hotel or resort accommodations. I believe this is the year that the Disney Collection is do to be reevaluated too.

We did not buy just to exchange. Until now we have only gone to SSR and BCV. We are planning a DisneyLand trip next year and wanted to make San Diego part of it. Hopefully they get it cleared up soon. I assumed since the DVC member site already lists the points per night for 2007 that they had already signed their deals for the year.

In the past, the Concierge Collection options have been available by the fall for the following year. If there is something you really want to do (and won't be put off by an increase of a few points over the current point chart), I'd ask MS to reserve your choice and have them just let you know what the point cost will be when it is released. Most likely, you will still be able to reserve after the revised chart is released in the next couple of months.

As long as MS is assuming the particular resort you are interested in from the Concierge Collection will continue to be offered, then I'd do as Doc suggests. If they are saying they don't want to reserve it because they aren't sure it will remain in the collection, then that would be a different story.

This seems to happen every year for many of the resorts. I wonder if DVC is putting pressure on the Del related to a couple of problems encountered by members who exchange there.

MS stated that there is a block on ressies at the Del until they return the 2007 contract. The 2007 point chart is already out and has been for a while. They recommended that I call back every week until it is resolved. We are in a holding pattern for a while.....oh well....

I'm having the same problem trying to book Shutters on The Beach in Santa Monica. MS have also told me to call back every week. You are not alone lol

Not sure what is going on with the concierge collection? We noticed that the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson AZ (dude ranch) is coming off of the collection this year. Real sorry to see that. We really loved that vacation... One of our best.

It must be on a hotel by hotel basis. I called for the royal garden in London on Monday and got the confirm. call on Thursday.
