I just booked 4 nights using the concierge collection for 4 nights there through New Year's Eve at the end of this year.

We would like to go to Bromley Mountain to ski and it seems to be a great ski area since we are not very good skiers yet, with 2 young kids. The ski school seems to have a good kids program.

Anyone has stayed here, and any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!!

We have stayed there but not on points. It is a great hotel in a great area. Manchester is a wonderful town with excellent restaurants and shopping. While we like Bromley, give some thought to Stratton Mountain too. It's only a little farther away but with top of the line skiing. There ski school is top notch.

Manchester is beautiful...the shopping is great...be sure to stop in Mother Mereks for dessert...Stratton Mountain was my favourite ski resort in Vermont.. don't get there much anymore....

My parents used to own the Weathervane Motel right up the road. The Eqinox is very upscale place they have an excellent brunch. ALso the Sirlon Salon and the Ye Old Tavern are great places to eat. Have fun!

Thanks so much for the tips!!

I am trying to solicit our friends to go but so far with no luck. They either think I am nuts to book something so early or the place is too much $$.

Thanks to DVC, I would not have paid this much for a night there otherwise. I checked out the cash rate directly with the resort and found out that the points are actually not a bad value. In addition, DVC ressie only requires 4 nights minimum while a regular cash would have required 5 nights!!!

DVC rocks!! :sunny:

If you are not very good skiers and your kids are young then I'd say Bromley. My kids have been learning in the Bromley ski school for the past 3 winters now and I can't say enough good things about it. The instructors are fantastic and my kids always have a great time. The mountain faces south so it does get a lot of sun so be sure to think about sunscreen. The whole mountain is smaller and the lodge is older than Stratton but I like that - it has a really nice family feel. To me Stratton has more of a ski resort feel but that's not what we're looking for right now. And you'll love the Equinox - it's just beautiful. Plenty of quaint shops plus the outlets (!!!!!). Right down the road from the Equinox is Mulligan's - a good place for your family to have dinner - for some reason my kids just love their macaroni and cheese. And on New Year's Eve - if you can stay awake after a day on the slopes - there are great fireworks that are right over the hotel at midnight. Have fun!

The Eqinox is a wonderful old inn--it'll be beautiful that time of year! I'm envious!! You will enjoy it!! :goodvibes
