Actually wishes will be better right outside the hawaii building.. The ppl and kids in the lounge make it kind of hard to hear sometimes. We always stepped right outside on to the beach or by the pool, dock or suset peak and watched wishes, they pope in the music all over the resort.. Nothing like watching wishes outside..

Grab a drink in a paper cup, a snack from the lounge and enjoy!!

I agree. Sometimes the lounge is very distracting. Of course, other times everyone was very into the fireworks, so it was fine. We watched from the beach a couple of times, and the lounge CMs offered us a tray for our goodies. Our favorite spot to watch was from our patio, though!! Nothing beats watching those gorgeous fireworks in your jammies then falling asleep watching the castle. :cloud9:

I agree that the patio is our favorite place to watch it from, but we have seen it enough that I really enjoy the experience from the lounge. Sometimes it's nice to have others around to share the experience.

Going for our "end of our annual passes" trip next month and absolutely wanted to say club level no matter where since it is a short four night trip and we want to have as much convenience as possible. Were booked at AKL CL but couldn't shake the thought that once we are there for evening snacks we won't want to get back on a bus to go out to a park later. So I switched to GF Sugarloaf CL. My girls love love love the GF and I have basically told them we can't do it this trip so I'm going to surprise them. Given the convenience factor, I think it is worth the extra $$$ even though I really like CL at AKL, the GF can't be beat.

I noticed that someone earlier in this thread staying in Sugarloaf said they visited the RPC Lounge. I wasn't aware that was possible. We have stayed RPC before and I thought that if you were RPC you went to that lounge and if you were Sugarloaf you went to that one. Do they permit you to go back and forth?

I've been wondering about this. We currently have a TPV CL room at the POLY in October. For the difference in price, I have been considering changing to a Garden view CL room and use the lounge. So is it really crowded in the lounge during the fireworks? Do you need to get there well in advance to get a space near the windows?

My understanding is that people staying RPC can use Sugarloaf lounge but not the other way around. When I stayed SL, that was pretty clear. When I've stayed in RPC, no-one told me I could use the SL lounge, but people here on the boards mention that from time to time.

What is the difference between the two CLs at the GF? Are they the same or is one more expensive than the other? Always wondered about this. Is there a reason that only the GF has two?

RPC rooms and lounge are in the main building overlooking the lobby.

SL rooms and lounge are in the Sugar Loaf building.

The RPC rooms do cost more because of their location. The food and services are the same. Some people think the SL lounge is a bit small. The RPC one is quite large.

I guess they have 2 since they can find enough people willing to pay CL rates to fill up RPC as well as the SL building.

We just booked WL CL for our July trip!!! :yay: we realized we had some extra money and decided to throw it at CL!! I'm so excited!!

Congrats......WL CL is awesome :goodvibes.

We just booked AKL CL for next month! We used our DVC points and were able to get a 1-bedroom. I'm shocked that it was available at five weeks out!

How exciting....enjoy AKL CL :).

Have a magical time......your girls will love the surprise :wizard:.

RPC guests are able to access SL, but SL guests cannot access RPC ;).

As mmmears said, the services and food offerings are the same, with RPC being more expensive since it's located in the main building and is convenient to the monorail, shops, etc. I'm not sure why the GF has two CLs, but they're both very popular :).

Hi everyone! I'm back! We are going to the GF in September- RPC, Theme park view... We were in RPC this time last year and loved it (it was the only CL room available, and more than I thought I wanted to spend, but man, now we are hooked). We were also at the GF in December, but RPC was booked and the building we staying in is escaping me, but it too, was great.

Anyway-a couple questions-last time we didn't book a theme park view...we looked over the main pool and the lagoon, and loved our view. But I went theme park view this time, b/c it was only $100 more, and I know my 2 little girls will love watching the fireworks from their beds.

But now thinking about it, I really loved how when we walked out of our room, we looked down in to the lobby, and we loved hearing the band/piano playing in our room into the evening. Are all the RPC rooms like this? Am I making sense??? We were also on the 4th floor, just across from the CL lounge, which was also so convenient.

I'm wondering if I should change my reservation, kwim?

I had a TPV room in RPC on the 4th floor. It was down the hallway from the lounge, overlooking the marina and the castle. Those rooms aren't right off the lobby (like when you open the door, you are in a long(ish) hallway, not in the atrium. We had to walk down the hallway to get to the lounge and see the lovely view from there. I think I'm answering your question, but if not, I'll try again. :goodvibes

Well, crap. That answers my question. I really loved staying where we walked out and overlooked the lobby. Guess I'll try to change my reservations.

NO DON"T!!!! You may end up with the construction view...keep TPV....JMHO ::yes::

Don't give up TPV! Its not like hallway is far from the lounge/music etc. Just request close to the lounge and see what happens. Good luck!

I agree. It's not like you are down one of those "endless" hallways like at the BC/YC or AKL. It didn't take us long to get to the lounge. And it was really nice watching the castle change color at night. :cloud9:

DW is suggesting we go all-out on a Poly club room but my inner Scrooge McDuck is having problems with the roughly $3000 additional on an 8 day stay from a standard garden room to a MK view Club room even though the actual cost isn't an issue. Aside from having the lounge, is there any other advantage to the club rooms, even is it's something intangible like a little pixie dust?

Why not go with GV CL? You'll save around $900 that way. It was only $900 to upgrade from GV to GV CL and about an extra $900 for TPV CL so it should only be in the $1800 range to upgrade to go from what you have to TPV CL.

I guess you guys are right. I just loved being in that main section so we could hear the band and piano playing in the evening! It was so nice!!! (I don't really care how close we are to the lounge)

Wow that's a substantial difference. The things I liked about Poly CL were:
-- knowing what building we would be in
-- the convenient location of the lounge to the pools
-- the view from the lounge
-- the amazing castle view from our room (but you can choose GV CL for less)
-- having the concierge downstairs to help us instead of having to walk to the GCH
-- nightly turndown service
-- the food and drinks in the lounge
I'm not sure that's worth the surcharge, though. But hopefully it will help you decide.

We just sat in the lounge area and relaxed there, listening to the music. But I can understand what you are saying. Hopefully the castle view will help. :goodvibes
