Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

Just got back from a CL stay at the Poly from December 9-12th. It was awesome. The view from the lounge cannot be beat! It was never really crowded and we could always find a table. Here's an update on some of the offerings I can remember:
Friday: Crab Rangoon and Meatballs in some sauce with pineapple (sorry can't remember the sauce)
Saturday: BBQ Pork Skewers (SOOOO GOOD!!!) and an Edamame Salad
Sunday: Ginger chicken wrapped in bacon
Monday: Sushi. I know California Roll was one of them
There was also vegetable spring rolls but I can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday.
Also every night had 3 different cheeses, assorted crackers, fruit, pineapple with caramel sauce, pb and j's, mini corn dog nuggets, pitas and 2 different spreads, 3 different wines, 4 different beers, and a alcoholic fruit punch (also delicious!!). Desserts were a banana bread, coconut macaroons, carrot cake, a raspberry creme that was served in shot glasses, brownies, a chocolate macaroon type cake thing and cookies.
Overall it was very good! We will definitely be returning!!

It sounds wonderful! Poly is one of future resorts!

Thank you so much for the details! All of the offerings sound yummy but I was worried about what my DS, the picky eater, would have there. I think we'll find something for him.

Resort wise I am leaning toward Poly and GF as I love the grounds/pools in both. DH loves the Poly rooms, and I love GF rooms. Kids will be happy (with one exception -Dani you know who I am referring too) with any of the rooms I think.

So, speaking purely on CL-lounge, CMs, offerings.....which would you pick???

I am booked at Poly CL in April. It's 2 rooms, my DH and I, and our 5 kiddos. We are all divided where to stay....we have stayed AKL CL, YC CL, and Sugarloaf. By far Sugarloaf was our favorite. Resort wise I am leaning toward Poly and GF as I love the grounds/pools in both. DH loves the Poly rooms, and I love GF rooms. Kids will be happy (with one exception -Dani you know who I am referring too) with any of the rooms I think.

Among those resorts I have stayed Club Level at the Contemporary and Polynesian. Well in terms of the food offerings I would go with the Contemporary since I liked what they had available a lot more and thought their Cast Members were a bit better. However lounge wise I pick the Polynesian since it's a lot bigger and has more tables.

I am SO glad you popped in. The CMs at Sugarloaf were awesome, so I want to be sure I pick the right resort. The Atrium lounge does look smaller than Poly. How is it compared to BC lounge in your opinion? We stayed YC, that lounge was SMALL. Being a family of 7 , I want to have a spot to chill out

I thought the Atrium Club lounge was a lot bigger then the Beach Club lounge, so it sounds like the exact same size at the Yacht Club and not good for those who have a fear of Claustrophobia. It's bad enough when you are close to other tables and have their Cast Members standing there looking at you until you are done with a plate, because they rush to take them away since they don't have a table to put them on yourself like at the Contemporary, Polynesian and Boardwalk Inn which do have that.

In fact last Friday I stayed at a Fairfield Inn & Suites in Troy, Ohio along my way home from WDW and their eating area for breakfast had a similar set up like a Club Level lounge because of the way it was built. Well right away I made a joke that this was bigger then the Club Level lounge at the Beach Club.

Pas130, now that I am staying at the CL at the Polynesian I feel like I can chime in about CL at the Poly vs the GF. One thing that might favor the Poly is if you get TPV in the Hawaii building, on the first floor, you can open your patio doors and the kids can run around and play in the sand and you can see them from your patio. Just came back from some time in a hammock and saw several families with kids were doing just that, relaxing in the patio watching the kids. Just a thought! More later on the GF thread....

This is our first time CL at the Poly. Really like the family feel and the food offerings, but I have to say the morning choices are slim compared to SL at the GF. However, the afternoon snacks are more kid friendly. Popcorn, jellybeans, goldfish, yogurt covered pretzels are out today. However I am going to miss my afternoon scones they serve at tea in SL.

Hi all! Just back from a wonderful stay at the Poly for Christmas. Not club level but anywho...

While there I booked a bounceback offer for 2 nights before our Fantasy cruise in June. DH decided he wanted to switch up from the Poly for our next trip. He thought I was booking Coronado (our fav moderate) but DD and I decided to surprise him with BC club level since we will just be visiting Epcot and Hollywood Studios and not doing a dining plan. We've only done club level at GF Royal Palm. I'm reading that Beach Club's lounge is smaller right?

What food offerings do they offer at BC? Something from Kouzzina's and Flying Fish maybe?

Also which floors are the club level rooms? I was going to ask over on the Beach Club thread but thought I would start here first.

We were booked GV at Poly. The girls and I will enjoy the scones when we go to RPC

I did change. I waffled back and forth all morning, couldn't help myself. Poly does have a family "laid back" feel. But we did LOVE SL when we went. This will be great!

Yes the Club Level lounge at the Beach Club is very small and there are to many Club Level rooms located on the 5th floor given it's size, so who ever designed it wasn't thinking right. Plus their Deluxe Club Level rooms are located between floors 1 - 4, so you also need to take those guests into account.

Also only Club Level at the Boardwalk Inn has food offerings from Kouzzina since that's where the restaurant is located, so if you are interested in items from there then maybe that is where you should think about staying at.

If you reserved a Standard Club Level Room then yes you will be on the 5th floor.

I am considering staying at the GF club level next spring. We stayed at the Poly club last trip and loved it so much! (but depending on all things - may move to GF).

Here is my question - tell me about the standard club rooms at the Sugarloaf Club.... What floors are they on? what are the balcony/patios like? Are there many rooms? can they be connecting?

This is what I'm considering too. I've not actually stayed there - so someone else can probably give more detailed info. But to give you a quick response: What I've been told so far is that the rooms are all located in Sugarloaf Key building, various floors. Balcony patio options are the same as other buildings. Connecting is never guarenteed, but I think it is the same as any other building. yes, some rooms connect. If you look at the location of the SK building, you'll see that the rooms either look towards the pool or towards the GF Marina. The building is near the GF's quick serve restaurant. It is near the main building and near the quiet pool.

Hi! Question for all the AKL CL experts....I read at the very beginning of this thread that all CL rooms on the 4th floor are savannah views. Is there any "bad" view/room that I need to be aware of? We didn't make any room request...basically because I'm not familiar with the layout of AKL CL....didn't know what to request
