Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

It's great to read the positive reviews. We love the CR, but last August when I went w/o DH, I wasn't very impressed with the Atrium Club. DH would love to stay again at the CR and try their CL, but I'm worried about him not liking it. But, it sounds like they're doing a better job now?

Hope you don't mind answering some questions:

Was the food replenished up until closing time?

Was the lounge neat and tidy and were tables being cleaned and cleared?

Did there seem to be enough lounge staff? Did you ever see a CL manager in the lounge or walking around talking to guests?

Were they allowing guests to go into the lounge without shoes? Were adult guests wearing PJs into the lounge?

I suppose you can tell from my questions what issues I had there:rolleyes:

Thanks!

I was there last month and I will give you my experience:

There was always food out when we were there, nothing was ever gone and there was always choices, even at 9:45 for dessert. Now, we did not make the 5-7 hot apps because of the young ones needing a real meal but all the other times there was plenty.

The lounge was always clean and there was never a mess I saw. The CM where there and cleaning and moving around. It was also never crowded and we were there when there were no rooms available to be booked.

We never saw anyone in PJs or barefoot. Everyone was dressed and nice.

There were tons of CMs. Sometimes I even thought a lot were on staff :) Usually it was 2 at the desks and 3-4 in the actual lounge. I am not sure who the manager was so I have no idea if they were there. It might have been one lady who was "official looking" but we never needed anyone but the CM so I never noticed.

Hope that helps.

They have all been so patient with all my changes. And because they are together, I don't have to update my information. What a relief! And any time I have emailed them I get a reply the same day! :goodvibes

Except one email DID have Aloha and Happy trails perhaps I have confused them as much as I confuse myself

It does help and I appreciate you answering all my questions:goodvibes. It sounds like they aren't shorthanded anymore, which is a good thing.

:rotfl2: That's too funny! You sure keep everyone on their toes. I also found the Poly/WL IPO to be very patient:worship:. I've often wondered if the IPOs talk about "us" on their breaks. Well, not "us" so much as... pas130:rolleyes1

I know it's something we have done many times in the past but I just filled out our Boardwalk Inn IPO form for our December 2011 vacation and at least it's the first step before we are back there.

Yeah! It makes the trip seem more "real" and closer, doesn't it?

It sure does and I am already planning what nights my Dad and I will go to the ESPN Club and watch some Toronto Maple Leafs games, so at least that gives me something else I can look forward to doing.

That's sounds like fun and convenient, too. Mom might have to go over to the spa while you guys are there;)

Happy Thursday afternoon all.

I'm at that point where I should stop planning, but I keep thinking of activities I might want to add.

Does anyone know, can I use IPO to book MNSSHP and Epcot Segway tour? TIA!

You can for sure use them to book MNSSHP - I just did this a few days ago (Brittany told me they would prints my tickets out there upon our arrival). Not sure about the Segway tour as I've never done it but I would assume they could.

Sounds like you are planning a great trip! Enjoy :goodvibes

:rotfl: And don't forget the "special" phone line that rings when my number is identified. Allows them a moment to take a deep breath  One reply was, "No apologies, that is what we are here for" translated into "Stop changing your resort crazy lady" ;)

:rotfl:

Or maybe translated into:

"Thank you dear conflicted crazy lady - you have given me great job security with your daily calls.":worship:

Quick update: Spoke to IPO, and indeed they can book the Segway tour directly! All booked.

The pull of awesome things to do at WDW is getting the best of me.

Must...plan...time....to...sleep!:rotfl2:

Just do that when you get back home...

Do you know if they can get you MNSSHP tickets with the DVC discount? That would really make my like so much easier. We check in to AKV concierge a week from tomorrow.

Is it a long walk to get to the CL lounge? We stayed AKL in a suite on the second floor, and it was a walk to the lounge. But I would do it again in a heartbeat :goodvibes Just curious, I'll be in a suite, so not on the 5th floor with the CL lounge. Wondering if we'll have a hike to run up for snacks. TIA

Hi all! Got back Sat. night from our split stay: 5 night YC waterview Regetta club & 2 night GF deluxe king Royal Palm Club. We had a great trip! Here's a few thoughts & some of the foods in each lounge:

YC: arrived @ resort about 10:30 AM via towncar. Met as we got out of the car & taken to 5th floor. Check in took about 3 mins. Our room was ready. We were in room 5143. This is a king bed, no connecting room door. I usually request "a quiet room; away from housekeeping". Didn't do that this trip. Decided to just take what we got. Not happy to see out room was the first one in the hall, right next to the CM's desk area. I was very concerned about hall noise, but actually once we were in the room, we hardly heard a sound. If we heard anything, it was very soft & if we had the TV on, we really heard nothing from the hall. The only other comment on the room is: the room is over the back door, but on the side. The only way to see any water was to stand at the railing of the balcony & look to the right. Unfortunately, the love bugs were bad this year, so I didn't spend any time on the balcony ( I usually like to sit out for awhile each day). So I wish we wouldn't have wasted the money on "waterview" coz I never saw water from the room.

Because we passed the CMs every time we went in or out, we always got a greeting. Even if I just went for a quick soda to the lounge. So they were very friendly, but I really don't need that much attention, so I could have skipped that part.

Breakfast was always: oatmeal with toppings, dry cereal (raisin bran; frosted & plain corn flakes & fruit loops); 2 types of bagels& hard bioled eggs. Everyday there was a muffin & a bread. These are what I saw: blueberry, banana, apple/ walnut & carrot muffins; macadamia, banana ,& apple walnut breads & cherry, apple & cheese danishes.

Afternoon snacks were yogurt covered pretzels, gummy candies, cookies & those yummy homemade potato chips & dip.

Evening appetizers: Sat: chicken skewersw/ dill sauce & pork pot stickers. Also orzo salad & brocolli slaw.

Mon: Conch fritters & pot stickers. Also the orzo salad & another cold salad I forgot to note.

Tues: Crab rangoons & raspberry/ brie puffs(don't know exactly what that was coz I don't like cheese) Don't remember cold options.

Wed: bacon wrapped scallops & some kind of somosa(?) don't know what that was either. Cold offerings were potato salad & couscous.

Of course there were cheese, crackers, fruit, dips & veggies everyday, too. Along with peanut butter & jelly with rolls for the kids.

Desserts we saw: cookies, mini cupcakes. oreo bonbons, brownies, & a fruit type moouse.

The lounge was always clean & had seats. As a matter of fact, Mon morning, DH & I were the only ones there from about 8 - 8:20 AM. We don't drink, so I can't comment on wine, beer or cordials.

Something new they said they just started was asking @ check in what time we wanted our room cleaned: 10 -12; 12-2; or 2-4. We asked for 10 - 12 & always came back to a clean room for our afternoon breaks. Pool was wonderful, we enjoyed watching the afternoon games. And less crowds than usual for this time of year, it seemed. Weather was wonderful: hot, sunny & no rain.

All in all, another great stay @ YC. Since this post has been so long, I'll come back later to report on GF. Sorry! :goodvibes

We've never stayed on concierge level but have stayed at all other levels. DD is on oxygen so we have special needs. Value will deliver her oxygen even if I'm not in the room, or I can pick it up myself, but with the other levels they must wait till I'm in the room before they will deliver it. This can cause a problem if DD is out of oxygen. I would like to upgrade to a nicer resort, but the stress of the oxygen keeps me going back to the values. So, I thought of staying concierge, if they could help me with ensuring her O2 was delivered to the room without us waiting for it. However, if this is not part of the service they offer, I don't want to put more duties on them. Does anyone know if this is allowed, or should I just stay with what has been tried and true.
