If it wasn't for these boards I'd still be spending way too much money on vacations and wouldn't know all the stuff I know now because of all you wonderful, helpful Dis people!
Thank you again for all the advise on staying CL. We've never booked CL before so I didn't know about contacting them and asking them for help. But since I read the Dis, and can follow direction;;) I contacted BC IPO and they have already exceeded my expections! :thumbsup2 I tried to book Le Cellier and couldnt' get it for any days of our stay, but the IPO came though and got my first choice too. :cloud9: I'm so happy!

Thank you!:worship:

Just wanted to say how great BC IPO has been.

We had to change our dates by two weeks since my dd broke her leg and needed surgery. They really came through and helped us move all our ADRs.
How did the surgery go? I've been following on the YC/BC thread and have been waiting to hear an update, but might have missed it. I'm also glad to hear that IPO was able to get your ADRs switched :)

Great news on Le Cellier. I was thrilled that IPO was able to get all of our ADRs - several hard to get ones at that. They really came through for us :)

Wow! the photos are great. Thank you so much. The extra room will be great.

The stairwell you mentioned. Did It come out at the quite pool or SAB?

Just one more question if you would be so Kind. How early are you talking about when you went to breakfast?

We are on the deluxe dining plan and I gave up all our breakfast table service meals so we could have most of our dinners at signature restaurants. We will be celebrating a 16th anniversary and a 60th birthday so were planning to have club lounge breakfasts, we are early risers so hopefully we will be finding seating.

Thanks!

The Stairwell came out near the SAB pool. The stairwell actually dumps you out in one of the hotel corridors.

We usually hit the parks for opening time, so I reckon our time frame for breakfast was usually from 7:30 - 8:30 (at the very latest)

Someone else asked about how many people the Junior Suite could fit. To be honest I have no idea! I'm not sure if the sofa was convertible or not, I don't think the little sitting area was large enough for one to pull out, maybe if you moved it sideways.

She had the surgery on Wedneday. It took twice as long as they originally thought because they had to clean out a lot of bone fragments. She is in the long leg cast now. Thank God for pain killers! Although she hates being in the long leg cast and has has mobility limited, she is actually feeling a little better now that the screws are in and the leg is properly set.

We moved our vacation to two weeks later. We are now set for July 31-August 15. As I said before BC IPO was wonderful. We only lost a few of our favorites - California Grill (timed for Wishes), FDP and CHef Mickey's.

In a lot of Boardwalk Club Level reviews I have read a lot of people mention how great their Club Level Cast Members are, so I am wondering who are some of the best ones we should keep a look out for?

Everyone will have a favorite but ours by far was Pete. A kindly older gentleman he just did above and beyond and so so courteous....the other staff was very friendly, etc. but he really stood out to me....

I love them all :goodvibes I'm so glad I 'found' the BWI CL, all the CMs are really special there.

Anita & Lorenzo are I would say the most larger than life characters, then there's Scott (I find he has a very dry sense of humour but such a great guy), Pete (Mr Magic - he can make anything happen!), the lovely Lynda (I don't think she'd appreciate me saying this but she reminds me of my long deceased grandmother, lovely lady) and Janice, oh and Beth too, then there's also Christopher, Bart and Monica, who are all on the college programme.

There are so many of them that are great. Some of the CMS that have been there as long as I have been going are Linda, Janice, Jackie, Lorenzo,Anita, JJ,Scott, and Pete. there are also some that are fairly new or only been there a short time. I think they all go out of their way to make your trip as magical as can be. I think you will enjoy your stay there. I will be there on Monday with the rest of my family coming on Tuesday. I really feel like I am going to my second home when I go. I don't worry about anything because I know the cast is there to help with whatever I need.

oops yes, can't forget JJ (especially as he checked me in lol), Jackie was on a cruise during my last trip so I missed her. I so wish I lived closer so I could visit more often :(

I have a question for all you AKL and Poly CL experts. We're doing a split stay, and I'm just wondering if you make any special room requests. For instance, for AKL, I requested to be on the Arusha Savannah, but would it have been better to request a specific trail? Are there any non-DVC rooms that are close to the lounge anymore?

How about for Poly? We have TPV CL. I haven't made any specific room requests there. I'm thinking we either want 1st or 3rd floor. Does it make a difference in the view?

Thanks!:upsidedow

I am not sure about the view, however a 1st floor room comes with a patio and the 3rd floor rooms are the only ones with a balcony.

I also have to agree with KerryCM and ClareH37. That bunch makes your trip very special. We love them and look forward to seeing them real soon.:cool1:

Does anyone know if IPO has weekend hours? Also, what are their normal weekday hours. I'm sure its on page one, but think I scrolled down too quickly. Its our first Club Level stay, and we just spent 60-90 minutes with "the grid" plotting meals, parks, tours, fireworks. Hours of research and preparation. :surfweb:

Thank you!

In other news: our retired racing greyhound is about to bed down for the night with his beloved Yeti. A gift from his "forever family" for being good during our trip last year.

if i remember correctly the ipo has daytime hours 7 days a week. i have to say i'm glad i'm not the only one who makes a "grid" for 1st, 2nd, 3rd choices for adrs park hours, plans for where we want to be and when lol. i literally make a grid which i then use for confirmation numbers etc...

when we stayed at poly cl we had a beautiful view of the water and castle. our suite was 2 levels but started on the first floor level. it was the best stay i've ever had.

It took us 3mo of reading menus, reviews, books, travel guides, etc to plan out how many days we were going to go, how many days in each park, what resort, what activities, etc get to this point:

The Post-it grid of dining. Each tab represents an ADR request or ticketed activity. All color coded by park or yellow for all resorts. We had it in word and excel - but eventually it just got too annoying moving things around, and we went 'manual'. This was so much easier to fine tune. I'm sure my friends think we're totally lame (except for one which I have a feeling is just as neurotic as we are when it comes to planning), but hey - at least we go stress free, at least when it comes to things that stress us out. And we still had IPO do all of our ADRs.

Our next stage in planning is the actual park activity map by day, with back-up options and 'escape routes' in case of meltdowns, emergencies, etc.

Thanks for the IPO hours!

DW asked me last night about doing Excel or something electronic. We like the portability of our manual grid, which we also use to log all confirmation numbers. In pencil, of course! I then take it all, and make a Word file, which is organized by: flights, resort, dining, tours, park plans, fireworks info, etc. The computer file "master plan" then goes face-up into a clear file folder protector, for ease of access while travelling.

So, everything (dining, tours) can be taken care of by IPO? Nice to have one-stop shopping. While I doubt the square footage changed, I think the BC CL has been updated since we toured it in 2003. Does it get really crowded in there? Or do most take food back to their rooms?

My coworker calls my "grid" my "Color Coded Matrix of Fun".

I have park hours, EMH, ADRs, flight, hotel info all on a one page sheet.:thumbsup2

We just got back from Poly TPV CL last Sunday....excellent trip!!! We requested the 3rd floor and got 1st. I was a bit disappointed at first, but that quickly ceased when I realized how convenient the 1st floor was...could walk right out of my room to the beach, the kids played in the grass while we sat on the patio. It was awesome!!!!

Ok, packing is officially finished. I called Disney Florist to have a family treat tote in each kid's room. Got their name embroidered too. Since my son and his wife are managers for Pepsi, I had to tell them no Coke products!!!!

Tomorrow at this time Jim and I will be in our happy place, the Innkeeper's Club enjoyiong some quiet before our son and daughter and their families arrive.
